I think so, re wheel brace. Search using google with part no, or go to Brighton Mercedes in Melb web site, from memory their site lists , with pictures the item.
That said, I purchased from Super Cheap, or place like Repco a wheel brace extender that is safer to use and easier for around $25..

I hadn't realised that the contents of this kit was an issue, or I'd have photographed mine. Gloves are a nice touch, having used mine once.

Re auto stop and restart.
recently I have noticed the auto stop, restart feature not working all the time, seems intermittent.
Tonight at a set of traffic lights it stopped when I stopped, but half way through the light cycle, with my foot still in the brake, the car restarted again.
Any suggestions as to why, symptom of another issue ? Capacitor ??
Thanks

I have to say that's pretty normal here. Auto-stop will only operate when there's enough charge for it to do so, and will only last for as long as the charge enables, which is often not sufficient for a lengthy stop at traffic lights. I don't mind the auto-stop most times, but I find the engine restart when stopped with a foot on the brake to give the car a bit of a jolt. I wonder if petrol engines are any better. It's much smoother if the restart occurs because I've taken my foot off the brake. Auto-stop can also be a nuisance when parking and other stop-start situations, but it's not hard to turn off for those manoeuvres.

Hi Techno,
As stated by bips, there are many variables that come in to play with the length of time the auto stop/start will hold with the engine off. Perhaps the biggest contribution is from the Air Con system, as the system determines what the temperature variance is. Other factors would relate to the various other electrical systems in the vehicle and what load they are placing on the battery.
On the COMAND screens you can select Engine data panel, which contains the Battery voltage. While sitting at the traffic lights with the engine off, you can watch the voltage drop away fairly quickly. My petrol appears to kick the motor back on when the volts fall to 12.25v-12.5v. There is probably a gizzilion different parameters that feed in to this system !!
Also, I have seen a small number of posts in the forums, where folk have had the capacitor replaced, due to failure of the Auto Start/stop system to engage at all. So maybe there is some fragility attached to this unit. Keep an eye on it and if you see any sort of degradation ...take it in to get checked out.
Having said this, though, I acknowledge, that monitoring this system might be problematic, in that I have noticed a variance in when it decides to work and when it decides to not (indicated by the dash symbol to indicate -' inactive') ..refer gazillion variables!!

To bips, my petrol GLC250, I find the Auto stop/start almost totally unobtrusive. Most of the time, now I and almost unaware of it engaging and or starting. Maybe one in 20 times I am aware of it starting the engine, to the point where it is slightly intrusive, vibration wise. (now that I think of it ..as Techno said...when sitting at the lights with foot on brake)
From memory when I took a Diesel for the test drive it was much more noticeable. But I suspect each vehicle has its own behaviour..in that you could have a very gentle Diesel or a not so gentle Petrol.

Veh sales data. March 2018 in Oz.

In the battle of the premium German brands, Mercedes-Benz (3340 sales) is prospering with the A-Class (605), GLA-Class (401)

and GLC-Class (431) to comfortably outstrip Audi’s (1860) heavy lifters
including the A3 (338), Q5 (438) and Q7 (205), and BMW’s (2229) 1 Series (254), 3 Series (275), X1 (109), X3 (626) and X5 (242). They all easily thumped Lexus (863 sales), with it relying on the IS (129), NX (321) and RX (229) to pull in the numbers. Infiniti? It logged only 43 sales for the month, which were dominated by the Q30/QX30 pair (13) and the Q50 (18).

There were some significant wins among the more recent arrivals in March. Alfa Romeo’s Stelvio – its first SUV – has given the premium Italian brand a huge lift, adding 51 sales to its 133-sales tally for the month, and helping to push the brand 50 percent higher than where it was at the same time last year.
BMW also experienced a bump via its new X2 (81 sales), making it the most successful of the coupe-profiled SUVs scattered throughout the German luxury car maker’s showroom. Jaguar’s pioneering E-Pace found 101 buyers, almost doubling the Brit’s monthly sales, while reborn Chinese brand MG found 99 customers willing to jump behind the wheel of the ZS small SUV. “

Some good GLC info.

we have not had that issue, just dr8ving off in farmland that has been upgraded to freeway and the software being old.
Ask your Dealer and ask for your free Nav syst upgrade. If already upgraded, ask for a clean install, you may however loose your past destination data points.
Is yours the Command System ? Or the one with an SD card ?
Let us know how you go, if I hear anything I will post here as well as Whirplool in Oz.
Good luck.
OK After much tooing and froing I have my car back.
Headlight alignment and steering column had recall work done on them.
The navigation problem required two visits to the dealer. First time they claimed that they had updated the navigation system, but on checking versions nothing had changed. Back it went and now has the latest version. I will know next week if it has fixed the problem.
I had been experiencing battery warning light problems for sometime which the dealer said was due to my driving pattern. They claimed to have checked the battery and it was OK. After a visit to a battery specialist, they diagnosed that the battery "was starting to fail" and would not fully recharge. A new battery and the problem has gone away. Also the stop/start function now works again (unfortunately, it anoys me) which obviously requires a fully charged battery. On the plus side, knowing this is a good tell tale that the battey is starting to fail.
Next item is the reverse park auto-pilot which had stopped working. Dealer advised it is working OK, it is only designed to work if parking in between two cars. Ie Car, empty space, car. Ie If there is one parked car and a large space behind it will not work. I don't use it very often and so have not noticed. Does anyone know if this is correct. It sounds like BS or a stupid design to me.

I think that's right. I think my dealer told me as much when I bought the car. The system relies on gap detection, and a gap needs a start and end point. Does any manufacturer have a system that operates only with one or the other?

I too found it a bit of a struggle to get map updates. I assumed it would happen automatically at each service, but I got nothing at the first service, so I made a point of insisting at the second, and it happened.

Looks like the rear lower chrome is now blacked out and the exhaust ports stick out less. Good call. The new headlight interestingly has the new gullwing signature like the A class. Not sure I like the way refreshed GLC impliments it. Definitely see the new reflector LED headlights like the refreshed C class.

Interior pretty much what I expected.

GLC 200 to arrive Sept 18, $62k starting, petrol
https://www.carshowroom.com.au/news/...81241-91362525

We will see the last of the GLC220D, from around Jul 18 ($64k).
The new GLC200, rear wheel drive only should capture a new segment of buyers ?
Certainly a cheaper and possibly easier unit to service and maintain, but still with the Star emblem.

Oh by the way, saw my first GLC. AMG 63s, in Coupe body, nice chat with new owner, it’s the first private registered one in Oz.
Love the front grill and the exhaust note; just wish I could record it, fit underbody waterproof sub woofer and link it to my throttle ? Never happen, but a joyous sound from the AMG.

Hi all,

New member here

Guys, could you please let me know if anybody was looking for a new GLC-250 (Petrol) recently in Victoria (Melbourne) or any other states?
Just curious to know what would be the best dirive-away price.
Dearer has quoted me 76K Drive-away on GLC-250 (Petrol) with Seat pack and AMG Line pack.. Unsure if that's the best price or not..

Would appreciate some guidance here

Cheers!
