Screeching Brakes on the GLC
Another fix bulletin and resolution will take up more than a year I guess from now on. I am not sure what Mercedes is really doing with this matter.
I heard that C400 has similar brake problems and still no fix for them.
What if we use parts from Non-Mercedes compatible brake?
I am scared to do so since it could mess up things more.
Worth a call to your dealer to see if they can get you in.
Keep the beat !

I was expecting more like 6 months. Which, incidentally, is a little after my self-set deadline for when I'm contacting my lemon law lawyer, as it expires 2 years from purchase in my state.
So I'm playing with the idea of keeping my OE pads especially since its warming up, and things are quieting. In that regard, is anyone with relatively higher mileage (say 20K+ miles) experiencing a decrease in backup brake squeal?
This is my first post in these forums.
Owner of a GLC 220d from Oct 2016.My GLC 220d has this brake squealing issue from the first month. MB and their dealers here were pushing this issue under the rug. Among the reasons quoted were dust, moisture etc .
They have now acknowledged the issue and are now waiting for a resolution from MB.
I would say the squeal issue is mostly gone now. They haven't squealed at all backing out of driveway. They squealed once while I was parallel parking. So, the squealing is so far 95% gone, which is acceptable. And the squeal I heard when parking was much quieter.
I was on the list for rear brakes for about 3 months.
It's dipped down to 12 degrees F or so...no squealing.
I'm glad the recent fix worked because we had a lawsuit all set to file.
