Edit: Please have the rotor also changed as I have seen messages in this thread that the new pads alone may not fix the issue.

Looks like the updated MB brake pads are of a different design/ materials. It is a putty that MB did not do the brake pad change as of a recall, etc.
So I'm playing with the idea of keeping my OE pads especially since its warming up, and things are quieting. In that regard, is anyone with relatively
higher mileage (say 20K+ miles) experiencing a decrease in backup brake squeal?
PS: To make matters even worse, when I had that last service i went to back out of the service area and it squeaked so loud that every technician in the MB service facility turned and looked at where the noise was coming from. I was told to try braking very hard on the freeway on way home, which I did slowing very rapidly and hard from about 80 mph, but nothing has improved.
Does anyone have any suggestions or have you solved this? VERY Frustrated and very disappointed.

They've probably become so glazed they're beyond fixing. Mb screwed up and they're just hoping you'll do new pads with them.
Try these akebono pads and ask your indy, or whine and argue with your mb dealer to jnstall these for free an d you bring the pads

Absolutely not normal. Dealer attempting to blow you off.
Identical problem on my GLC fixed under warranty...and many other owners.
