Where is the MB bulletin information that you guys find all the informations?

Mercedes-Benz has come out with a revised bulletin and fix for the brake squeal as of Dec 22nd. My dealer contacted me immediately upon receiving the bulletin. He was correct, in that, they redeveloped the brake pad compound. He ordered the parts and said the fronts were available, but the rears were not. He was expecting the rears in a few more days.

Part numbers are A 001 989 87 51 for brake paste
A 000 420 81 00 for front pads
A 000 420 52 00 for rear pads

I just spoke to the service manager at my dealer & he confirmed that there is a fix on its way, so this updated TSB is legit. He currently has front brake pads but is waiting for rears. My sense was that MB has a fairly larger number of orders for the new pads to fulfill related to this.

My dealer also ordered the brakes. He was somewhat skeptical that this will work, since it is the exact same bulletin/fix they released in the Spring. Hopefefully, they are using a differeent pad than the Spring issued ones and the fix does work.

Dealer in Chicagoland replaced front pads per the new bulletin on Monday. The car squealed loudly later that day when backing out of garage. They feel the squeal is from the rear brakes, and those parts are not available right now.

So, even after the repair with their new bulletin method, the brake makes the sound still?????
Did you make a call to MBUSA about the repetitive issue?
This is ridiculous.

I'm not trying to be rude, but they poster indicated that only the front pads were done. So why would one call MBUSA?

We had our front brakes replaced this week (back brakes on backorder) and so far there has been no more squeaking noises. Knock on wood that continues. The temps have really cold too since the change, so was a good time to test it. Hopefully it stays quiet. Always shocking that it is.

Had mine in for its first service last week. They told me that they had shimed the pads but it appears that they changed all the brake pads as the new ones are angled on the leading and trailing edge. So far they are quiet.

My dealer in Princeton NJ confirmed the brake squeal problem. He said it's common among GLCs and the noise is due to metallic ingredients in the paint applied to the brake pads. Newly designed replacement pads from MB should arrive around the end of this month.

Wow. The brakes squeak literally all the time now. I'm not making any friends around town. I can't believe this does MB any good from an advertising standpoint. You'd think they be on this faster.

My dealer told me today that they could check where the issue is coming from. If front brakes, they can change now as the parts are available. If rear brakes, the parts won't be available until February.
I am debating if I should just wait until Feb to have both replaced rather than doing a trial and error.

What I find interesting is how I don't hear anyone with RHD vehicles (including myself) complain about this. And likewise how nobody with LHD vehicles complain about the juddering/crabbing.
Some very strange (well to me anyway) market differences going on here.

It has been a week since Mercedes has replaced our front brakes and there has been no squeeling. The weather has been really cold too, until today. Sure is nice not to have the squeal, just hope it stays that way.

The GLC squealing is both front and rear brakes. Just got this from a customer and checked it's validity with the Service Department.
Mercedes-Benz has come out with a revised bulletin and fix for the brake squeal as of Dec 22nd. My dealer contacted me immediately upon receiving the bulletin. He was correct, in that, they redeveloped the brake pad compound. He ordered the parts and said the fronts were available, but the rears were not. He was expecting the rears in a few more days.

It may not be both though. Like I said above, I just had my front replaced last Wen and there has been no squeeking after that. The rear pads are on back order for some time, so that is why my dealer tried the front first. We have had the squeking issue for a year now and glad that at least so far it has been solved.

We have had our GLC to the dealer for squealing brakes. Everytime you back out of the garage they squeal all the way to the street. It seems to only happen in reverse.
Our dealer was aware of the bulletins and attempted to replace the front pads with updated parts but they wouldn't fit!
The current bulletin doesn't apply to our vehicle because we have the P31 Sport Package.
Ours has 11,000 miles and was recently in for its first maintenance service. Squeal started around 8K miles. It too sickens me to drive a luxury car that makes this kind of racket!!!
Does anyone else have the Sport Package and this issue ????

My GLC has the Sport Package and the squealing brakes.
Have had noisy brakes for several months, however, the level of noise was barely audible until about two weeks ago. Currently the noise level is such as to be objectionable.
Noise present only when in reverse. And seems to be emanating from the front brakes.
