What 'waiver'? I don't believe there's such a thing in California DMV rules book.

I'm in California and my plates went on the front same day picked up car. Already got a fixing ticket for a previous car I purchased without front license plates. Ain't fun seeing red lights behind you. And first words are wheres your front license plates? Don't care if they make holes in front bumper rather have holes than getting pulled over one night and by mistake having a smell of 1 bottle of beer in my mouth. CHP or Police ain't to friendly around here especially end of month when they have to show there minimum in handing out tickets.
Maybe things will change when California secedes. But for now California people put your plates on.

I think maybe they'll let you off in an exotic roadster or a Rolls-Royce, but not a commonplace Mercedes, AMG or not.

Yes there is a document, not DMV document but it is a dealer only waiver/acknowledgement i signed shown below:

So showing that paper to a police officer I wonder what he/she would do?

You don't understand what this paper is for, this is basically an acknowledgement from the dealer that i do not wish/opt to install my front license plate bracket at the time i took delivery of the car...period. Any issues with law enforcement is at my own risk. And of course i will not show this to a police officer.

So it's not a waiver, but an acknowledgement for the dealer's own protection.

Put the license plate on the dash and enjoy the ride.

Got some ebay brake caliper AMG decals today for my rear brakes to match the front calipers:

While working on my rear brakes, got a chance to see some more AMG-model specific suspension components:

Toe Control link:

Upper Control rear arm:

All done and chillin' next to my red beast.

Went to LAX couple of times over the weekend...and have to do this DIY stealth front license plate bracket..had some front license plate issue in the past with LAX parking enforcement. Easy install and removal. Did this DIY on my E90 sedan.

Did not want the dealer to drill on my front bumper to install that ugly oem license plate frame when i took delivery. Comments/critics are welcome on my DIY.

The hardware needed:

My Mercedes-AMG GLC43-54def203-4ca9-489d-aa8d-657e87dde677_zpsjvcidstk.jpg

Drilled two holes under the front bumper and used stainless #10 self tapping screw to attach the bracket:

My Mercedes-AMG GLC43-2e08f828-d074-4249-a107-fdbbdec756d5_zpsxgrmfr9d.jpg

Used 10-24 bolt and lock nut to hold the license plate:

Looks ok until someone parks to close to your car and hits your plate and drives your screws//nuts into your bumper and makes a mess of the paint. I could not live with the holes on the underside of my bumper. I live in Texas. I suffer with the front plate issue. I just used the mount that came with the car on both of my current Mercedes as well as my Audi. They are fine.

Preeeety slick. Thanks for sharing.

I will probably follow your lead. The only thing I may do a little differently is add some type for padding/thick foam tape between the bracket and bumper and on the back of the bracket where the plate holder bolts go. Just to minimize metal rubbing on the bumper.

I live in Texas and cops tend to use no front plate as an excuse to pull you over to see what you're up to. As the '43 will be a daily driver, this trick will come in handy, although for daily use it may need to be a little more substantial somehow. I refuse to drill into my E63's bumper, tho. If I get tickets, so be it.

Thanks! Yes, there are a lot of hardware options you can do with this DIY. I just did this quick install Saturday morning.

Did you get both front and rear mud flags for your GLC43? I called Mercedes parts today and they told me the mud flaps are not designed for the AMG model. I have running boards on my vehicle. Would you please verify the part number by posting it in your reply. Thanks.

I got front mudflaps only, the rears will not work for the AMG/Sport Package option. The part number for the front only mud flaps with running boards A2538901000.

Since my GLC43 is always thirsty (what mpg??), my previous issues with filling up/nozzle getting stuck/nozzle lever not locking...is all gone! I learned this method...insert nozzle, push all the way in and push down..after filling up, lift up and pull out!

Well first, I don't like you already after looking at your first/last picture...middle section...left side...61... mine says 13.

That said, did you get the oil locally and the filter at the dealer or somewhere else? I'll probably do the same as you for Service A, but use an oil extractor instead of crawling under the car. I may also change just the filter at 5000 miles to make me feel better, as I've seen that suggestion instead of a full, "break-in" oil change.

Congrats on the year long journey with the GLC43 and thanks for the update. Never want to wish my life away, but man, spring can't get here soon enough, so I can enjoy the 43 that much more. Oh, thanks for the mud flap review/install info above, as well.

Got my oil (mobil-1 0W-40 $53) from a local walmart store in my area, and oil filter/drain plug washer($25) from a MB dealership. I just used my jack to lift it about 5 inches and place jack stands on the side jack points. Then access/remove the 8 bolts for engine undercover, 13mm wrench for the drain plug and a 74mm-14 flute oil filter wrench for the filter housing. Mine is about 6200 miles on the odometer.
