KUDA has two mounts available, http://www.kudausa.com/mercedes-glc-...ack-a2001.html, which mounts on the passenger side of the center stack, and http://www.kudausa.com/mercedes-glc-...ack-a2002.html, which mounts near the driver's window.

KUDA claims that both mount without drilling or other damage to the vehicle, and both are hollow to allow routing of cables inside. I'm looking seriously at the a2002, especially if I can source some Espresso MB-Tex or leather to cover it in.

Note that you will need a phone holder to attach to the mount to actually hold the phone.

(I have no connection with KUDA, except as a potential customer.)

Good idea, but it seems to be a bit far from the driver to reach it.

For the a2001, I agree. The far side of the center stack is a pretty long reach. That's why I'm considering the a2002. I had an A-pillar mount in my last vehicle, so the a2002 would be very close to where I'm used to looking.

The mount certainly gets knocked around by knees and handbags.

To date, I have only removed the mount once to apply new double sided tape after it came loose from being continually knocked around.

For example if you are interested in using Spotify.... We here in Europe have Radar Apps that alert you, and which are crowdsourced....

Ah yes, Police and warning apps. Daniel, out of curiosity, where are you from and what apps do you use for that?

I guess it depends on the region you are in. In the UK the coverage is not only fantastic, with auto updates (brand new roads around me are already on it) but also extended by live internet traffic. To me it is as good as Waze notwithstanding the social elements of Waze, but happily forgo those for a good integrated system. And to top of that it has full integration with Mercedes Me app on my phone so easy to send destinations to the car.

However I do appreciate that the experience may differ in other regions where perhaps the maps aren't up-to-date, aren't automatically updated, have no live traffic information, and Mercedes Me isn't available. That to me would be a very different experience.

But given the choice, I totally agree, I don't get the point for a phone mount either. Mine is inside the elastic band in the cubby with a lightning cable attached.

Another reason, at least for me, is that I have a dual sim phone. And when making any call I have to click the sim I want to use. Hence, phone needs to be reachable.

Two schools of thought on those - I used to use them a lot when they first came out. Then I realised there is much easier solution to it

I wish I could keep the phone in my pocket.... but I guess that until the car entertainment system runs fully functional Apple Carplay or Android Auto OS it will be difficult for me.

If all you do is listen to the radio and make and receive calls... no need to have the phone visible.

I use Apple Music all the time - must admit that I do not use Spotify. Although I'm looking into Tidal or Deezer for its hi resolution streaming services and the accounts are supported by my home cinema receiver as well

The CD mount doesn't really get in the way of anything that can't be accessed a different way (i.e. phone mode). I found this to be the best mount. The biggest issue with the vent mounts is that in the winter, you have hot air blowing on your phone and can cause it to overheat.

Looking at the photo I guess you cannot open the center compartment underneath it... This wouldn't work for me.

The vent Iottie doesn't work either. I purchased it but it wiggles too much in the curves... maybe because my phone is heavy (OnePlus 3)....

Will probably have to go back to the BRODIT

No, you can open the center compartment, I have mine open (except for the pic) all the time because I have my dash cam plugged in there. It's just the way I haphazardly set my phone on there for the pic - very low. Remember that cover slide-pivots back so it doesn't flap way open.
The one I have is magnetic so I can put the phone at different levels or rotate it as needed. You can find them cheap on Amazon (they go on sale often)...it's worth a try. I scoffed at it when i first saw it.
