TPMS for Winter Tires/Wheels
Tire Rack wants $152 for TPMS on a winter tire/wheel package that cost $958. I have always checked my tires without the need for a TPMS since I started driving over 40 years ago so I do not need TPMS.
The question is if I do not get the TPMS then I assume I will get a warning every time I start the vehicle that can then be reset, correct? Or is there a constant warning I can't reset (like a flashing idiot light).
Has anyone used winter tire/wheels without TPMS?
Thanks

The system will look for the TPMS and not see it, thereby triggering the light. Low pressure, bad or no sensor will cause the light. Look on eBay for a set of Mercedes TPMS sensors. You'll likely find them there much cheaper.
This is the route I took for another vehicle with a dedicated snow tire/wheel package.

You normally can manually set upper and lower temp and pressures for the tyres, that way avoiding alarms. USB remember to reset parameters wehen changing from summer to winter tyres.
You buy Tpms aftermarket on EBay that used cigarette lighter plug for power reader and 4 individual marked sensors that screw into the exterior valve, they have their own long life, replaceable batteries.
Simple alternative solution, to too expensive.
