GLC43 Round Vs. Flat Bottom Steering Wheel

Does anyone know what package or option dictates whether a GLC43 gets a round vs. flat bottom steering wheel?

I've looked at a ton of listings online and can't seem to figure out the trigger.

Thanks!

Flat bottom is standard. If you get heated steering wheel (443), you get the round steering wheel. I actually ordered the heated steering but when I found out I would lose the flat bottom, I cancelled the heated steering. Its in the dealer order guide.

Yup, Forgot about that - the standard flat bottom does not have AMG on it. Dealer said that only comes with the Performance Steering Wheel...oh and sorry but that steering wheel is not offered as an option. Same with Performance Seats - can't get that either.

Any interior that is 224 or 225 will not come with the D-style steering wheel (flat bottom). In other words, if you stick to black interior on the GLC43 and NOT a heating steering wheel option, then you will get the D-style steering wheel. Hope this helps.

All this said the flat bottom steering wheel feels very positive and chunky. Sure it doesn't massage your ego with the letters AMG printed on it, but the feel when driving it is great.

Is the performance steering wheel used on another model? Wonder how the grip/overall dimension compares to the flat bottom one in the 43.

FYI, when I placed my order for an 18 a couple of Saturday's ago, performance seats were listed in the options. Also, Premium packages were not available with everything pretty much broken up into their own package e.g. lighting, nannies, nav, etc

The performance seats on the 18 may be worth getting if you can afford them. The regular seats are comfortable, firm, have lumbar support, but don't clutch you laterally that well.

When are the 18s going to be rolling off the line / delivered?

recommend:
- Burmeister, worth every oenny
- pano roof (unless every second counts / doesn't match paint color)
- premium 2
- advanced parking more for the surround view than self park
- black ash is great and doesn't smear
- loving the 21 inch titanium wheels, it is not a rough ride as others have suggested, even here near Poteholuma, California

You got to order a MY2018 already? Did you get a build / delivery date?

No idea on the build date as the order can't be placed yet, but it is in the queue. Done as 17 orders are closed. Was told June 1st is when 18 builds start.

Premium 2 and 3 are no longer available. Premium 1 is still standard and the options packages as best I remember:

-advanced lighting
led adaptive lights
ambiance lighting
-Navigation
command system w/larger screen
not available with smartphone integration
-Smart phone integration
apple play
android auto
I don't remember if the parking was included with the distronic or if the two were separate packages.

On the seats, I have a set of recaros in my 15 370 and in comparison I really didn't care for the ones I sat in on a CLA45 that was on the showroom floor. Besides, this is going to be my daily driver and while the performance seats look good I am choosing comfort over performance.

Build:
-Smartphone integration
-Led lights (not adaptive)
-21" titanium finish wheels
-selenite gray (for the moment)
-Black leather with Red accents
-Red seat belts
-Heated and Ventilated front seats
-Rear door sunshades
-Burmeister Sound
-Pano roof

Almost forgot. They got rid of the piano black and replaced it with black ash. Door trim remains aluminum.

I have 21" titanium finish wheels - they look fantastic and are a highlight of the exterior, especially with black paint. I nearly got Selenite Gray but I'm glad I got black.

Black Ash and pano roof is great.

Not sure what Smartphone integration adds. You get a lot already!

From my understanding the integration allows you to mirror your phone on the vehicle's display/system. Therefore, you can run waze, google maps, or whatever your preference for navigation. I'm assuming the same runs true for audio e.g. pandora, amazon, or google music

Your photos in the picture thread made me doubt my choice, but the Z is black and i've owned lots of black vehicles. I think I might stick it out with the selenite gray.

I wish they would split the surround cam from the autonomous parking mode. They are combined in a package for US builds. I never use the auto-parking on any vehicle but I use the surround view cam on our C450 every time I drive it.

Agreed. I would have gotten it if it was a stand alone option. Same goes for the ambiance lighting.
