Just replaced the tires on the wife's GLC300.20,747 miles and down to 4/32's. According to Americas Tires, Mercedes MOE's have no mileage guarantee. When they hit the asphalt you own them. Bought a set of Bridgestone RFT's with a 60,000 mile mileage warranty. $260 each out the door tax, disposal fee and road hazard/mileage warranty included. It's a shame that MB can't put a decent tire on their cars worthy of a mileage warranty. Incidentaly, the Bridgestones ride and corner better than the MOE's also. If your interested the MOE's were Continentals.

Seems like most folks agree Run Flats were AWFUL when they first came out years ago. My impression is that many people who have experienced both (I have no experience with them) have said the ones being used today have a much improved ride quality than the early ones.

Manufacturers original equipment, which happen to be run flats on MB's.

Bridgestone makes different grades of tires. The ones I bought are not the Bridgestone MOE's for MB.

The ones I just bought do ride and handle quite well. Much better than the Continentals it came with. We'll see about the wear mileage. Americas Tire has always been very good in the past in covering their warranties. Incidentally, all 4 of the MOE's were worn even and the same so there was no alignment problem causing there quick demise. Just el cheapo tires picked by MB. Probably not cheap if replacements are purchased at MB.

Hi,
Running Pirelli Scorpion Verde, run flats MOE, on 20" AMG rims.
31,000km so far, expect about 42...km based on wear pattern. Have had to rotate tyres at 10,000km intervals. Tyres not too bad, but not sure what I will replace with ?
Still trying to decide runflats, normal tyres, All Season or Mud & Snow or Continental Conti Seal variety. There are no km guarantees from resellers here in Australia.
We as RHD cars are having issues with all GLC models with cold affecting front left tyre performance, crabbing and juddering at low speed when turning, worse when turning right.
LHD vehs do not seem to suffer this 'characteristic' !!

Just so you know - it's the Tire Manufacturer's that doesn't offer mileage and/or Road Hazard for new car tires - and all tire brands do exactly the same thing - so 1st off let's get that part straight.

Thank you for reporting 20K miles on your OE set - frankly from what I have seen - a 2nd set bought/installed - same-tire/same-brand - that 2nd set you can expect 25%-40% longer tread life. From what I have seen same-tire made/shipped to the car manufacturer ALWAYS wears faster than same-tire/same-brand purchased from a tire retailer - if you were the tire manufacturer wouldn't you want a better shot at shipping a 2nd set well under 30K miles ?

I never said it wasn't. MB could pick a tire that does have a mileage warranty. If Ford can do it on my F-350, MB can do it on a little suv.

for the all season 20inch GLC43, I can only find the MOE in tire rack, what other manufacturer make them in USA? runflats or not.

If you have an Americas Tire or Discount Tire in your area give them a try. They had to order the tires that I bought. Got them the following day. For those that want to rely on the slime repair kit for normal tires, my wifes flat on the OEM's was a cut on the corner. If she had normal tires the car would have had to be towed. It's also too bad MB can't design the trunk to at least carry a donut type spare. Even the late 60's mustangs had a small spare that could be inflated with canned air.

what i dont understand is why dont they even offer a donut type spare? they could sell a new load floor that is a couple inches raised and a donut type spare for say $500 and make $425 profit and give people the option to have a small temporary spare and then we can buy non RFT if we choose to. Everybody wins!

IMHO it's money. Most people buying MB's don't do their own maintenance and believe whatever the service dept. tells them. You need new tires and these are the best for your car. Here's the bill.

Did anybody get the Pirelli Scorpion Verde's as their MOE run flats? That seems to be what most of the GLC300's come with at my dealer in Virginia. Saw a Bremen and Valmet built '17 with them today and saw a bunch of them earlier this spring. One had 18" 's and the other one had 19" 's.
Just wondering if they last any better than some of the ones mentioned here.
