Just curious, Can anyone explain this MY17 GLC pricing
When picking up my EDP car in Sindelfingen I asked the MB Associate if they provided the U.S. Monroney sticker. I have one for my EDP BMW, and my memory is that it was in the car when I picked it up in Munich. But my memory may be wrong.
Anyway, the MB Associate did not know what I was talking about, but he said he could print the Order Info for me.
I have attached the order info he printed. What I am curious about is the pricing under the USD column. I assume USD stands for U.S. Dollar. If my assumption is correct, the prices shown don't match the U.S. MSRP for a GLC and they appear to be too low to be the dealer invoice prices.
For example, the following prices are shown:
1 Mercedes-Benz type GLC 300 4MATIC $26,649.00
Total for all options 12,930.00
Subtotal $39,579.00
The Subtotal is less than the base MSRP for a GLC, so these obviously aren't retail prices and again they seem to be low for dealer invoice prices.
Can anyone explain what these prices are?
I am also curious about the 19% VAT. Is this tax paid for U.S. cars? If so a tax of $7,590.00, plus the misc. charges, adds up to a Grand Total of $48,181.21, which is closer to dealer invoice. But is still a few thousand below dealer invoice according to the invoice price on sites such as Edmunds.com
Anyone have any ideas what these prices are?

The Monroney law is a USA-only thing. The window stickers and disclosures are printed and affixed only after a car clears customs and is approved for US sale.
Your price sheet looks like the German version with USD figures. The confusion is likely from the incremental value added tax (VAT) that applies at the manufacturer level and is disclosed separately here, since it is passed along to the buyer. That amount is not disclosed separately on the US invoice but is charged to you as an addition to the base price.
I work in the tax field and won't bore you with a lecture on VAT. You'll use VAT in almost any developed country other than the USA. This invoice reflects it as it would be shown in one of those countries.

Thanks mtberman,
I guess I should be clearer with my question. The prices on the list are far below U.S. pricing and appear to be below dealer invoice prices. This makes me curious as to where these prices come from.
Are these the prices a German customer would pay for the same car? If so, it is interesting that the prices are significantly below US prices.
For example, the Grand Total on the price list is $48,181.21 vs over $56,000 MSRP for the same car here in the U.S.
