Illuminated Star with Distronic?

You cant always get a timely response on here. If your car has distronic plus, your collision assist module is behind that star. Now there is a guy here who modified his illuminated star to work. My car came with the star illuminated so my module is in the right front bumper.

Seems like apart from @69armando no one was able to figure it out ? Looking to install the illuminated emblem but this distronic road blocker... has anything changed since the last post !!

I wish I can show someone step by step, but it’s not possible unless it’s in person. This customization can only work with the right black back piece that I had to dremmil to insert the illuminated star piece. I’m going to search my photos to see if I still have them.

I know a lot of peoplle were telling me to sell the process, but my heart is bigger than a pay day. I hope this helps those who want the illuminated star on their S550 with Distronic Plus. No error on dash going on 2 years

So the electronic part for star is in the center not on side somewhere? I'm confused about black round pieces, you cut opening in original shiny disc?

Glad to say that yes it is working on my 2012 S550 with Distronic Plus. I wanted to give it a few more days since I haven't driven it to long on the highway. I did activate the DistronicPlus feature on local back roads and it gave no error message as of yet. Usually it gives the 3 error messages within minutes of driving with the other Illuminated stars, but nothing yet with this one. Like AkTech said, its all about what blocks the signal.
Where do you live? I would literally pay to fly you here to Louisiana & get you to do this for my G wagon lol! I’ve been wanting the illuminated star soo bad and of course Mercedes said it can’t be done😩

If you have picture or video of how you dremeled out the star or whatever curious if o could get this working in 2022 as I think it's great if can get both to work. I'm probably add myself once I get car and I see how it's made but no good videos out . Thanks or what steps b you took
