GLC Digital Clock Slow?

I noticed that the digital clock for my GLC is always running slower within 1-2 weeks of reseting it. I keep needing to reset the time to get it up to current time. Kind of frustrating that GLC cannot do a simple job that a $10 kid's plastic watch can do!

Anyone else experienced the same thing?:nix:

Never heard that complaint before. In this digital age wouldn't it make sense if the clock updated itself either from the GPS signal or your internet connection? :nix:

Mine keeps correct time and auto adjusts when the clocks go forward in the UK, had to be manually adjusted on Discovery sport.

The clock in the GLC uses GPS to set the time automatically. Mine also corrects automatically for DST, but I'm not sure if this feature is universal or country specific.

Your clock should not be losing time. A call or visit to the dealer is warranted.

I had the same thoughts too. But my GLC is the basic AUDIO 20 without navigation. So I am not sure if GPS signal will help and from what I understand, GPS only helps with setting the DST?

I have not been able to connect my GLC to the internet via my phone's Bluetooth connection yet. So I don't think that is a cause of the time losing?

Whereas my Samsung Galacy S7 edge's time is always correcr up to thw second as it is set to auto time.

Same issue. I notice my GLC with audio 20 is around 5 mins off (comparing to my iPhone). My wife also said that she notice this before.

I have the same problem, and for me it is frustrating. Have you been able to get it fixed?

Tylbran 01-04-2018 07:55 PM

My 2018 GLC43 keeps time perfectly (I have the navigation package).

Hi guys, any updates from the service center with regards to the clock losing time?
i brought this issue up with the dealer and they are saying that they are waiting for a update on the command system to fix it.
Mine is the audio 20 without navigation... so im not really sure how that is going to be fixed and its driving me up the wall..... :(

Clock

Im driving now w205 as a replacement car with basic audio system without navi and i have noticed that too. Clock delays about 5 mins per week

Try checking to confirm the automatic time adjustment is set to either "on" or "off" depending on your area and your preference. I am in the US and keep automatic time/date turned on, and mine keeps time accurately. Press the Vehicle button, tip the controller rearward to show the menu, and then select "time." HTH

I purchased W205 last December 17. I discovered the digital clock slowing down in Jan 18 and so I feedback to Sales Person (Authorised Dealer). She advised me the updated solution will be ready in Apr 18. So, I followed up with her in May 18 and she replied me that the software yet to ready. Till now, it has passed 7 months and the defective of the software yet to be solved. It really pissed me off.
From car forum, I found it is a known problem. They should sort out the affected car instead of deliver the car as it is without checking to client.
I felt very disappointed for services from Authorised Dealer.

I got similar issue, but worse… my clock will be reset once almost every week, the date will back to 2010/01/01, and the mileage calculate also back to zero, my car is GLC200, does anyone had similar experience?

RSNovi 05-07-2019 11:46 AM

I am having a similar problem. When I left my house this morning the clock on the radio did not increment during my entire drive. The clock on the instrument cluster does keep accurate minutes but the hour is off by one hour. 2019 GLC, took delivery last week.

The very same happened to my glc 2016, with wrong date and wrong instrument cluster display clock and stuck comand display clock.

Furthermore me connect services have stopped working with the communications module not connecting to the Mercedes servers.

No clue to now.

Has anyone had a solution for this erratic clock issue?

RSNovi 05-16-2019 01:00 PM

My dealership asked me to bring it in and have the radio reprogrammed. I haven't had a chance to do it yet, but will soon.

I noticed the date in my radio says the year1999.

Having the same problem with our 2019 GLC that we took delivery of 3 weeks ago. Has anyone found a solution? Service scheduled for Wednesday. Thanks!

My heads to service on Tuesday.

RSNovi 05-29-2019 05:46 PM

Mine is at the dealer going on day three. I went to pull away from the dealer and the clocks were still off. I left it there as I think they tried to manually adjust them which I have done many times myself.

tahdah 05-29-2019 08:47 PM

Ours was fixed today, according to the invoice they "corrected the epoch offset in command control unit and reset time settings". Not sure what that means but it seems to have corrected the problem for now. Hope that helps.

RSNovi 05-29-2019 09:08 PM

Thanks. I’ll pass this on if they can’t fix it.

RSNovi 05-31-2019 05:59 PM

Dealership ended up doing the same thing it appears based on the notation.
