Interior ambient lighting

Silly question from my silly wife, who wanted to silly interior lighting as a mandatory options. Is it possible to get the interior LED color lighting without the full advanced lighting package? The cost of getting this feature is:

Advanced lighting package: $1900 +
Premium Package: $1350.

Yes, that's $3250 for some interior lights, with the other stuff really optional from our needs. Premium package itself seem a bit overpriced for blindspot assist and keyless door handles, but that's another story altogether.

Thanks!

The lighting package is for the headlights. You're not getting crystal chandeliers in the vehicle. You get ambient lighting for 'free' I think. This has a choice of three colours.

Not sure about your car - it was about a £250 option on mine (includes 3 colours - red, white or blue)

The € equivalent for me.
Pity the colour range is so limited but I still think it makes a huge difference to the interior.

i have chicle with the interior lights and had a loner a couple of days without. the interior looks much richer with the interior lights

one thing to consider. if you are looking at $1950 for the advanced lighting that means without it you have the standard halogen lights which some say are yellow. consider at a minimum the upgrade to the LED lights which is around $840 i think. but if you search this thread you will see the advanced lights are fantastic. also the halogens look different than the LED - find the ordering guide on this thread and you will see the difference.

premium package - for me the worthy feature is the keyless entry. it is a nice feature for sure

LEDs are a must.
Keyless entry and go are brilliant.
Spend the extra.... you won't regret it.
But if you don't spend you may very well regret!!

I have Bengal Red leather so am happy with the red option (to be honest, I've never tried the other 2). My son has a Q7 with loads of colours (30?) - has now had the car a few months and changed the colour a few times in the beginning until the novelty wore off...

Makes it more difficult with Mercs when you can disable the key so they can't clone it, never had this option on other manufacturers cars I have had.

So when you park your car at the carpark......
you take the key out of your pocket, give it 3 clicks (or what ever the process is)
put it back in your pocket,
do your shopping
come back to the car
take the key out of your pocket
..........kind of defeats the purpose of keyless
and yes they can steal your car at the supermarket ---- guy follows you with the same equipment in a backpack and a signal booster that sends the signal to your car where his accomplice is waiting....

If you have disabled the key they can't send a signal from it, that's the point.

Your choice, disable the key or have your car stolen, know which I would choose.

My point is that disabling the key defeats the whole purpose of having a keyless system. So pay the extra $$ for keyless go and then still push key fob buttons

Why is it silly to want interior lighting as a mandatory option. These cool features are make Mercedes awesome. Its all about the details. I too wanted this feature. It makes the ride enjoyable looking, feeling and a conversation piece for sure.
