Dear Fellow GLCs,

I have a basic model 2017 GLC300, and I installed Garmin Navigation SD Card GPS MAP Pilot version 5.0 (for United States Map)
I noticed that recently Garmin SD Card Pilot version 8.1 is available.
Anyone has experience of both SD Cards ? Any idea if it deserves to upgrade to 8.1 ?
One big issue with my Garmin Pilot 5.0 is it's slow, sometimes it need half minutes or even longer to calculate a route. I am not sure if 8.1 version fixes it.

I have had both (currently 8.1). I have not noticed any difference in loading a route. 30 seconds or longer seems a little long to me, but might depend on how complicated your route is. Neither version shows the street I live on even tho google, and Map Pilot (on my phone) do. The only difference I noticed is that 5.0 showed the speed limits on highways in kph instead of mph in my state (WA). Ironically, when I cross into Oregon, in goes to mph. Version 8 fixed that.

I am also curious how about the stores or business in the new version ? In 5.0 version, I noticed that some stores/business are not available. For example, if I select fitness, it only shows EQUINOX but does not list any 24-hour Fitness store.
Does version 8.1 have any improvement ?

Check eBay - and the cost for a 8.1 OEM Garmin card for your GLC (order correct card) is like $150 from reliable sellers like dominorose... no biggie ... not much money... and heck you know you are updated..

I did not use the features looking for points of interest much , so can't help you there.
