Are the lighted exterior door handles a standard feature? If, not, what package or option is it included? Can it be enabled or disabled in COMAND?

Just picked up the car in Stuttgart. No lights in the door handles. The door handles don't have that chrome trim either. Did Mercedes mis-build my car?

I am not sure about the light in the door handles as I would believe it's standard feature. You should check your command system because you can enable/disable it. The chrome strip on the handle is for comfort/keyless entry. If you don't have that option then it will be normal body colour.

Looked through the car setting menu. Can some one point me where to enable door handle LEDs?

Sounds like you don't have Keyless Go--the chrome trim on the doorhandles designates Keyless Go and coincidentally that's also how you get the lit doorhandles, to the best of my knowledge.

Did you order your vehicle with Keyless Go?

Nope. We did not order keyless go. We thought the lights were standard.

Can the lights be retrofitted? I imagine one must take off the door panel to do so.

CAN they be retrofitted? Most likely. Would it be cost effective? Absolutely not.

Chances are very good there's a whole host of wiring that the lit doorhandles would require--not to mention supporting software, etc. Don't bother.
