2016 GLC 300 run flats bald at 15K
 

THERE IS AN OBVIOUS DEFECT EITHER IN TIRE OR SUSPENSION. TIRES BALD AT 15k IS ABSURD. HAD A BMW THAT WENT 36K WITH NO ISSUES.

ANYONE FIND RESOLVE FROM DEALER OR MB?

My experience generally is that there is no tread life warranty on factory tires. However, it's possible your dealer will do something for you. It's definitely worth asking.

All 4 tyres? Dealer might knock a few percent off if you kick up a fuss, but it's still going to be way cheaper to buy non-run flats from a tyre shop. Lots of info here on wheels and tyres.

2017 GLC 4matic 12000 miles dealer told me yesterday tires have 4/32 tread left they are the Continental RFT 19 inch. Can’t do anything lots of complaints in here. Looking in replacing them with Continental Tru Contact No-RFT or Michelin Defender LTX No-RFT or Bridgestone drive guard RFT. Not interested in Michelin Premier low tread to begin with.

Get a wheel alignment
 

All 4 or just front or just back. Sounds excessive!. ..for all 4
I would talk to your dealer, look at the rear pattern on each wheel and see if that points to any specific issue.
Request a wheel alignment. Many folk have noticed better wear patterns after a wheel alignment.

How is the alignment? In my experience, all these cars have too much toe set from factory, and the settings will be in red even when they are new. This causes the tires to wear out very fast. Usually after a proper alignment the tire life gets much better.

Mine as well at 22,500. Rotated twice. Expect 30,000+ easy. Driving style, inflation pressure, road surface and alignment are all factors. YMMV Have no comfort complaints.

You had it aligned and it was perfect? Or you just see even wear and assumed it was good?

Aggressively driven, these cars eat through tires. Yes, the OEM tires suck, a nice Bridgestone option would help but the germans seem to love these Contis and for some reason, the Pirelli garbage. Even the S class with goodyears, they are made in Germany, not where any other Goodyear tires are.

Right but I'm a tech at MB, I'm telling you, from proof, that the alignment is ****ed up on these cars from new, they have excessive toe settings that just grind the tires off. We've taken them right off the truck brand new and found the alignments out of spec. You think what you want, but I've tested and proven it. Have your alignment actually checked and corrected, regardless of what you see on the tires.

I agree the tires are garbage, but it's not the only problem.

I wasn't attacking your experience or knowledge. It's just that I've always been able to tell by the wear on the tire if something was off. Maybe couldn't tell you what but something. We now have about 12,000 miles on the DriveGuards and they hardly have any wear at all. Hopefully in our case it was the tires but I'm not discounting your advise.:cheers:

I know what you mean, I spent the first 5 years of my tech career at a Firestone as a Lead tech, I did so many tires and alignments I'm bored of them at this point. It's one reason I'm used as the tire problem guy here at Benz. The reality is, they don't 'look' like they are out, there won't be obvious feathering, or overly excessive edge wear. But you will find almost a half degree too much toe on the 205/253/217/222. Doesn't seem to happen on the other models very much. Once we correct it the first time, it's usually good from there. Can't explain it, we've opened engineering cases to document it, they tend to dismiss it as damage, despite us doing it on brand new, never driven, never sold vehicles.

FWIW, I run Bridgestone tires on all my vehicles, they are just some of the best tires out there without the ridiculous Michelin tax. The driveguard is a tad noisy for a regular tire, but compared to other runflats, they are excellent. It's an evolution of the RE960 AS RFT which was fantastic, if a little short wearing. Bridgestone loves to push for more longevity, in their Dueler H/L Alenza truck tires, they were already a 65k mile warranty, they improved it to 80k. On a tire they sell as OEM on GM trucks/SUVs. People were getting 75k miles on original tires on a Tahoe, and not understanding why they haven't had to change them. They really build some great products.
