NYT article on German emissions recall specifically mentions GLC

"The recall announced on Monday, which covers diesel Mercedes Vito vans, GLC midsize S.U.V.s and C Class passenger cars, raises the stakes for Daimler significantly. In a statement, the company acknowledged the recall and said that “open legal questions will be clarified.” Daimler has previously denied that its engine software violated regulations."

Probably just a matter of time before they decide that DPFs are also illegal and must be done away with. After all they are just another cheat!

Dealership remapped my engine as part of the 2 year service, performance unchanged but I estimate I'm now up 7 or 8% on fuel consumption (GLC 250d). I struggle to see how this helps with emissions if I'm burning more fuel!
I now trying to get them to take the ECU back to the original settings but they are saying that they're unable to so so!

I haven't noticed any change in performance either but I haven't been taking note of fuel consumption.
