2017 GLC suv
cannot see thru the windshield at night

i have a 2017 GLC suv. i cannot drive it at night because I can't see out of the windshield. 3/4 starting at the top is black and there's only a sliver near the bottom where you can see the road. Obviously an extreme safety hazard. The dealer didn't believe me so I took pictures on my phone. Now they say they never heard of it. I told the dealer to keep the car until they figure it out and fix it and give me a similar loaner. Anyone heard of this?

Very very slow
I wondered if you need a new windscreen or new glasses.

It's not a joke and I hope that was how you meant your post. I don't need glasses either.. i came to this forum because I thought someone would have an idea or heard of this issue. This is a real problem with something in the windshield blacking out 3/4 of it at night. Hopefully the dealer/service figures it out and fixes it because I"m not driving a car that's only good for daylight use. Will try to figure out how to post a photo on the forum.

Was any chemical used to clean the windshield? Perhaps wrong product was used? Haze from wax perhaps?

To post a photo, simply click the photo icon (left of the smiley face right where you type) and drag and drop the photo when you get the pop up (or alternatively browse for it). Pictures would undoubtedly help the conversation.

If I had a problem like this I would be at the dealers immediately and tell them to keep the car until fixed.

A picture would definite help us to understand the issue and help advise you. We are currently unsure what is happening to you car.

This thread was started a week ago, surely by now the dealer would have seen the car and the thread starter would have updated!!!!!.

Sorry for the delay but have been traveling for biz. Not fake news and the dealer has the car. The problem is with the LED lights which are pointed own and only light up a small section of the road at nite creating a dark half of the windshield. The lights are not configured correctly and it's not an easy fix as I'm told. Also not a typical problem. The dealer has given me use of a GLE until they fix it .They have assured me it will get fixed and to use the loaner until they release the car back with my satisfaction because this is a major safety hazard. Sorry the members have been annoyed with my lack of recent follow up. I'll post the outcome and service comments as I get them.

Finally! I've been driving the loaner GLE while service figured out the problem. I refused to take my car back until they had an answer. Obviously the service manager had to drive the car at nite after dark and decide if there was a problem with the LED lites or something else. The problem is with the lites not being adjusted correctly. While this is unusual, it's happened with other models made in Germany. The service people at my dealership in CT have not had an issue with the GLC before. Supposedly the lites will be fixed eod Monday. I know some of you thought I wasn't legit. I hope nobody else will have the same issue.

So the low beams were aimed too low. Sounds like an easy fix.

I doubted you to begin with, but that was because your title and original description led me to think that there was a fault in the windshield that somehow only appeared at night. Once I understood that you were talking about a headlight problem, things made much more sense.
