Opening up the overhead console

Hi all, does any one have instruction to open up the overhead console? In other model you need to insert something thin in the middle to open it up, but I cannot open mine this way in GLC.

Some pictures would be very helpful. Thanks!

Just push up on the chrome area and the console will open. It is a place for your glasses.

If you'd like to remove it to fix the rattles the above link is showing how to do.
I removed on my 2016 C300 and now on my GLC to fix the rattles. Pretty simple to remove and fix the rattles using felt or Velcro ( this is what I've used)

Thanks! Exactly what I am looking for.

What tool do you use? I tried credit card and putty knife but couldn't get it open.... I am also not sure how much force it can take so didn't try too hard to pry it open.

In all cases I used a plastic "credit card" and a thin pry tool also made by plastic. The tricky part is that you need to push exactly the locks. Start with one and disengage. use the thin pry tool to keep it unlocked and do the next lock. This is the only method that worked for me.

Thanks WebMoto. Finally got it to work. Having a trim removal tool made the job much easier. Here's my notes.

Two locks circled below.

To defeat the locks, use a thin tool to press the levers inward at the positions indicated by the arrows. You can disengage one lock after another.
