Their mounts for their GPS devices use a 17mm diameter ball, and others have used this as a convenient semi-standard for their mounts. I have several phone cradles that use a 17mm ball mount.
Even if your post doesn't have an exactly 17mm ball, (a) it may be close enough to work; or (b) the post could easily be changed out for one with a 17mm ball. Either way, I like the cleverness of your mounting solution!

I’d buy if you can make that a magnetic mount instead of the cradle thingy. Don’t like to keep the cradle on all the time and prefer to attach a magnetic plate on the back of the phone.

At first I was worried that either the mount or the phone would block the center display, but it just clears the edge of the display. Great design!

Has anyone (or OP) measured the ball on this mount? I have a qi charger with a ball socket on the back that I would maybe put on this.
(I would also love to see a pic of the 2020/10.25" version from the driver's view. It looks like the majority of the phone will be hidden by the steering wheel.)

ball size is 17mm
and i will show 10.25 inch monitor with holder
it just hide 7 clock part of the phone, most people doesnt care that part. i also sell that version in korea.

I wanted to be as accurate as possible so I have scheduled an appointment with my urologist to get my ball size checked. Seems like a weird request but sure, I’ll bite.
So can someone post a link to a round magnetic mount that is the exact size/compatible for this ball mount?
I have an Anker magnetic mount that I bought a couple of years ago that fits a 17mm ball (and I've verified that it works with this mount), but Amazon no longer sells it and the product page is gone.
that was verified by a customer to have a 17mm ball. There are plenty of others out there, but you might have to scrutinize the product description, Q&A, and/or reviews to be sure it has the right-sized ball.
