What type ODB2 scan tool do you use ?

I am looking to buy a ODB2 code reader .
I am looking for something to be able to read engine light, reset after service ........
I see options like bluetooth compatible with android or just handheld unit . I have no idea where to start .
What do you guys use ? and what do you like about it ?
In my Audi I used Carista bluethooth connected to my phone and that was fine but Carista in not covering Mercedes GLC 2019 .

Depends what you want your code reader to do. If only to read emission-related codes (all starting with "P") then a cheap reader of $50 or less will do the job and pay for itself with the first use. If you want something more that can do maintenance functions (like initialize new battery, run electric water pump to purge coolant change, ABS deactivation for a brake job, etc) then you will likely spend $200 and up. I have an Autolink (basic) and a Foxwell 510 (more sophisticated but may not read/do all of manufacturer's codes, can be used for up to 4 different mfgs). There are generally lots of internet/youtube/forum postings that tell what the code means and how to fix it so it's up to you how dirty you want to get your hands or leave it to a shop to fix.

2020 GLC300 & 2009 SL550 (previously had 1999 CLK / 2006 E500 / 2011 GL450)
i own an iCarsoft MB 2.0 that I use with my 2009 SL550. It's the next best thing to the MB Workshop system. It provides way more data than a simple OBD system, does the service resets and can read a ton of other data from the various sensors in the car(things like various pressues of the internal systems, steering angle, accelerator and brake pedal position, etc.)

Unfortunately, it is not yet updated for my 2020 GLC -- and I inquired about it about a month ago. I presume it can read the 2019 & earlier GLCs but not sure.

This is about $150 on Amazon. Theyalso make a multi-car version where you have to install the software (I am not sure if the multi-car has all of the same functionality, the Amazon Q&A says it does, and the hardware is identical). That one is the iCarsoft CR v2.0, and is about $175 on Amazon.

The MB 2.0 is the best unit for a reasonable price that I've found. It has a couple of additional functions not mentioned that (although rarely used) could be really handy. The 2.0 will code a replacement battery for the auto stop-start system, the cost saving over a dealer charge alone would more than cover the cost of the unit. For those with diesels, it will also allow a forced re-gen on DPFs.

DPF regen didn't work on my 2014ML on that unit, all other functions worked as expected.

Interesting. Have you updated your unit's software?

Yes, unit was up to date. DPF regen was the main reason I bought the scanner, but had to return it.
