2020 GLC300 (x254) Engine Failure
Hate to say it but I am joining this forum for unfortunate reasons. Trying to find any information about engine failures on GLC300s. Mine is a 2020 GLC300 4matic with 57000 miles on it and a couple weeks ago, I had a loud clicking/knocking noise coming from the engine. Turns out, the timing assembly needed to be replaced but once that was repaired, it was discovered one of the pistons needs to be replaced....which is turning into all 4 being done.
I have not done any engine modifications of any kind and this just happened out of nowhere, very odd. Of course, its out of warranty and the bill will be significant
Has anyone heard of this happening or had experience?

Is your vehicle under warranty? I would pursue that avenue first.
MB has a long and growing history with failed four-bangers. Unfortunately it continues to this day with the M274-descended M254 2.0L turbor direct injected four banger.

Is your vehicle under warranty? I would pursue that avenue first.
MB has a long and growing history with failed four-bangers. Unfortunately it continues to this day with the M274-descended M254 2.0L turbor direct injected four banger.

Not descended. About the only similarities are the displacement and cylinder count.
I'll bet the hose clamps are even different. 🙂
