Front differential fill and drain locations?

On my 2021 GLC300 4matic, I'm looking for the front differential fill plug. I thought it was next to the oil pan. I see a bottom plug but can't see anything to either side. This is definitely different from 2017 and earlier models. Can you help me?

With my 2017 glc300 4 magic.

I saw the side fill plug, but theres no space to turn the bolt out.
I opened top plastic cover, but i was not sure if I can pour oil thru the top hole.

I decided to pump new oil thru the bottom drain.

I measured drained amount, 500ml.
I pumped 550ml and then quickly replaced the drain bolt with the injection blue plastic plug. Spilled some, so 530ml filled.

Yes, tight spot, I had to get the bit part out so i could fit and use open ended wrench to open the fill plug.

attached WIS shows 0.55L capacity

Hi DanD,

the Redline 75w85 oil has
short list on the back.
long list in the website, which includes MB 239.72.
So it is correct spec oil.

The oil drained amount can be a little different 500ml~550ml, because those gears are still wet. And I don't think 10% more or less oil make any issue.

Right, I just checked their website, very nice oil it has so many MB specs, can be used in our MB and Jeep. Thank you for pointing out.

Totally agree, on the capacity.

Strange thread. OP asks about the fill location for a 2021 and responses are for earlier model years with different front axle, and recommending oils.

It seems like the 2021 GLC300 front axle is a fill-from-the-axle hole device, like other MB models. I think W204 or W205 was this way.

If there is no fill plug, the precedent MB procedure is to remove the axle shaft and fill to overflowing. An alternate approach is to fill from the drain plug:

The unit below shows a drain plug and no fill plug.

Chassis,

You are SPOT ON! The M264 engine appears to be paired with a front diff that looks alot like the ones in the GLKs. Let's say that is 2019+. In addition to idea of filling from the drain plug, there appears others who used the top port (vent?) if reasonably accessible. I saw videos where on a GLK, they had to remove an alternator to get to the top.

Now that the question is satisfied about a fill port, thanks to all that chimed in. At what mileage interval would you change this front diff?

MB has a recommended change interval for earlier model years. I would do it in the 50k-75k mole range.
