Can "driver assistance package" be activated or retrofitted?

Whats up guys

W222 Owner here , Looking for a second car found a few I like has 80% of what I want considering ventilated seats and heated rear seats are impossible to find.

My question is. I see RJ Automotive has the retrofit for adaptive cruise control but does that INCLUDE or can Benz Ninja? activate Active lane keep assist, active steering assist? Active lane change assist? Active blind spot? etc]

It's kind of a must have feature but then in my search id be giving up the adaptive headlights since its very hard to find a 2020 with both and also includes the 360 camera, upgraded stereo , AMG line etc

The 2 GLCs I was looking at I noticed one of them has only (1) camera on the top front windshield and the other has the (2) so that is the one is the front contender now but the steering wheel doesn't show the adaptive cruise control so i'm a little bit confused.

I gotta do more digging on this forum but I converted my W222 to the post face lift S63 so i'm well aware of our cars and Peter etc but really hope and want the "driver assistance package"

Thanks!

You can retro-fit such things, I have seen people retro-fit all kinds of features including Distronic, but unless you are doing it yourself or have a lot of extra time & money, it just isn't worth it IMO. There is SO much that would have to be changed. Cameras and sensors would need to be added, modules would have to be re-coded or changed, wiring harnesses might have to be changed as well as they have different versions for different configurations. For adaptive cruise, you would have to replace the steering wheel buttons and possibly the control stalk too, it's a lot.

With enough money pretty much anything is possible, but the simple answer is no. RJ Automotive etc. can activate DISTRONIC, because the radar sensor is standard on some models or can easily be installed on others. If I remember correctly, they send you the required radar sensor. In some models if I remember correctly the one that comes installed from the factory needs to be upgraded before DISTRONIC can be activated, so they send you the part to install.

However, the larger portion of the Driver Assistance package requires other hardware such as the stereo camera in the windshield. That's a requirement for Active Steering Assist, because a single camera doesn't have depth perception. A single camera is sufficient for basic lane keeping assist as it only looks at the lane markers, but Active Steering Assist looks at cars and obstacles around you, so it requires the stereo camera. If you see the stereo camera then it should have the driver assistance package. Depending on the model year, there are no cruise control buttons on the steering wheel. It's a stalk. <2020 models have the stalk. The 2020+ models are the facelift which moved the cruise control to the steering wheel.

There's also a button bank to the left of the steering wheel above the light switch, although if I remember correctly these were removed with the GLC facelift and are now found in the Infotainment system. But in the model years that have it, the Active Steering Assist and Lane Keep Assist have dedicated buttons there to turn them on/off. If the button bank is missing, then you have to dive into the touchscreen to turn them on/off. Either way there are additional settings in the Infotainment system such as the Active Lane Change Assist in the facelift models. The pre-facelift doesn't have Active Lane Change Assist.
