Just got a ridiculous quote of $8000 to get the oil solenoid and wiring replaced. Reading that it is possible on the m274 motors to unplug it so that it goes into full pressure mode. The 2019 currently is displaying the DTC and CEL, so I just want to make sure of others with the M274 have unplugged them with success.

AFAIK, the solenoid is wide open normally. If the solenoid working it reduce the oil pressure. So i believe there's no need to fix the solenoid if there's no "oil pressure warning red sign" on the display.

I have the p06da code with 2017 glc300 for 2 years, but no check engine light.

Some people put the new solenoid part outside the oil pan, and connect the ECU connector into the new part, so ECU thinks it control the working solenoid, but actually control nothing but air. and no error code.

The key thing to know is that if it has failed and you choose to do nothing about it you wanna make sure it failed in the baseline position where it is wide open, allowing full oil flow. If it has failed in the reduced oil flow position that means your engine will be starved above 3000 RPMs of oil and it may overheat and catastrophically damage your engine.

Yes, this is exactly right! There may not be a better fault than one that helps the engine run better.

Engine got so hot driving on fumes that now the limited oiling solenoid is disabled.

Knowing that... you may want to inspect the cam sensors leaking CPS for "$10k oil in harness".

Your local service provider can help.

You choose a wrong workshop, go to dealer make a software update for the Engine and the Fault Code will be masked.

As you can see at post #5 no drivability issues.

2019 GLC 300
*This is all Hypothetical/Made up if you're the EPA*
Had this issue on the 2019, completely crazy the the year before doesn't trigger CEL. Car was driving way better ironically with the wire broken. Find where the wire enters the oil pan and disconnect it. Buy a new solenoid and wiring harness (the wire inside the oil pan). Hook up the new harness and solenoid outside the oil pan.
Find a place to zip tie the solenoid and call it done. Car will be happy again.

The failure of the low pressure solenoid evidence these engines respond well to better oiling.

There are simple EXPERIMENTAL ways to improve oiling as discussed here:
  1. 5kMi Max - Not 10k!! black thin oil
  2. PAO oil upgrade - Not "synthetic" blends
  3. effective viscosity - Not Euro 0w40
  4. API-SP cleaner - Not old SN formula

Can confirm

Had this exact issue with my C43 and the same code. Did solenoid hack. Check engine cleared and has not reappeared. Also had silly quote to dis assemble hald the car for a wire.
