Some dealers try to deny it but at the end of the day the AMG cars are still mass produced, and they depreciate like bricks. This isn’t a Porsche GT car.

Not true, smart and reach do count their money as this is how they became rich. Also GLC63 is not a unique car like the GTR/GTC or the new AMG Project One where you'll have to pay even on top of the MSRP

I’m not saying it isn’t wise to count your money. We might disagree that it’s necessary to attain wealth. I’m buying a 63 because I want to drive an automatic for a change, want a car for my wife and I to travel in and truth be known, because I think I will like starting it up each morning and listening for it to settle in. So depreciation or discount is not part of the calculation. I’m buying enjoyment. I’ll cut back somewhere else if I have too.

No one said the GLC63 was unique. But production numbers are less than traditional models with better price points. For me, it’s the right combination of size and style, with a V8 kicker. Where I live, I see many Porsche Macans and Cayennes, and many Teslas, Audis and BMWs. Like Kauboy says, buy the car, not the discount. I’m not waiting for the X4M nor to see if there is an RSQ5 on the horizon.

Most of my $100k plus cars cost me around $600 per month amortized over 2-3 years of ownership.
Most people end up spending $1200 plus for similarly priced cars.
Here’s an example:
2014 M5. I paid $104k on an MSRP of 118 in October 2013. Most people only got 4K off. Then I sold it for $78k after 31 months in May 2016. Average cost $838 per month.
Most people would have bought at 114 and traded in at $63k (best trade in offer I got). That would have resulted in a monthly cost of $1645 which is almost double.
So my savvy buying and selling saved me about $10k a year on my M5. If you multiply that by 2-3 cars owned over 40 years, you’re talking about $1,000,000. Then add the 10-12% per annum yield in a PE fund and you’re looking at $15 million in opportunity cost.

Well sure. I'm not stating you shouldn't always try to get the best deal. I got 30K off list on my last car. But I'll pay over list if I can get no better deal. "Opportunity cost" and "opportunity lost" live in the same world. On of my favorite expressions is, "How long are you going to look for a dime in the ivy?" If I die broke, I'll guarantee you, I will have had 15 million worth of fun.

Has anyone seen the F-Cell interior - when is the GLC getting that?
We're not getting our first GLC 63's until March/April but I'm concerned they're going to facelift the interior to the new Command a few months after that . . .
New GLC infotainment setup maybe?

Interested to order the 63 as well, just don't know will they give discount like the 43 does, I see people can get from 4 to 10% discount on the loaded 43. Also NYC is no good deal on pre-order cars in my past experience. I don't mind to have a road trip to pickup if any dealer give me a big cut LOL

Last I heard from the GM at my dealership they still do not have any allocations. I told them I won't take delivery of an '18 in April / May though even with a 10% discount. Not sure what I am going to do yet, but kind of annoyed considering I have money being held on a trade that I could have used elsewhere to lower my tax burden. It is what it is though, I went for the smaller dealership offering the biggest discount. Not that getting a 2019 would be a terrible thing though.

I didnt have a ton of equity in my trade in and they had said for the tax benefit they had to retain those dollars in their system. I am thinking about cancelling this though if they can transfer my tax credit elsewhere.

Actually, had I speced a car I would have preferred the dynamica. I hate that until very recently the only option for a nice car was to have dead-animal seats. I don't eat meat and I don't want dead animal skins lining my car's interior. Everyday, more and more people are adopting an animal-friendly perspective, and I expect the non-dead-animal trim options to expand greatly in the coming years.

I prefer Dinamica and alcantara for my performance cars so it works out

Shahul - can you see if the January builds are still on track in the system? I have not heard from my SA but my order was for a January build, early March delivery.

Yep. My build ordered in June 2017 (the day the order banks opened) not slated for build until 3D Feb 2018. Still no pricing on the driver assistance pack.
