newbie--buying GLC63
I was looking at a in stock GLC63 the other day and it didn't have a heated steering wheel. I asked the salesperson if I could have one on this type of car. she did not know. can these things have a heated steering wheel? i have looked at the configurator and can not find that option. Kind of important n MN

You need better salespeople.. we are here to help !
Bad new though.. Heated steering just for the AMG 43's.. not 63's.. get the dinamica steering wheel and remote start the car to warm it up

disagree on the dinamica steering wheel, the alcantara that Merc uses imo is crap or its just a very difficult material to keep in nice condition. Check out a few year old one with some miles on her and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Alcantara is nice the the pillars and roof imo, something you are not constantly touching.

I do not see many builds with the dinamica steering wheel. In theory it’s good for grip, but I’ve seen more comments about long term durability that I’m glad my build switched to the nappa.

GLC 63 Heated Steering Wheel
[QUOTE=viper3ez;7484095]whoa! whoa!! whoa!!!

I'm getting ready to buy a GLC 63, and the website still shows the heated steering wheel as standard, yet the salesperson says it's not available at all. Anyone have a heated steering wheel in the U.S.? (I'm talking 2018s)

According to the June 2018 DOG (MY2019), heated steering wheel is only available on the GLC43...no dice for the GLC63. Same thing stated in the MY2018 DOG from June 2017 that I saved. That said, the MB website does show it available on the GLC63, but guessing that's a mistake...happens quite often on the MB website.

A few months ago before the 2019 order guides came out the MB website had the dinamica steering wheels for the 2018s and I asked about them....they weren't available then but are available now for the GLC43s. Maybe the heated steering wheel option will be a thing for next year and this is a preview like with the dinamica steering wheel posting for the GLC43. We are getting the facelift next year after all...

I believe it is standard on GLC63. that is why it is not an available option

heated steering wheel is listed as standard. that would be why it is not in options list for 63

I can't recall seeing that button while viewing a GLC63 at one of my local dealers, so I can't say for sure. However, if it was in fact heated, wouldn't that be in the description of the Nappa wheel in the 2019 DOGs?

you would expect it to be stated in the description, but it is not listed in the description for either of the 63 wheels.
this took a lot of scrolling but i finally found a car for sale with a closeup.
Is that wheel button for heated wheels? if it is, then it is standard and would explain why it is not explicitly listed under options. although it is not listed under standard features in the DOG either.

i take that back. it can't be standard because many do not have that button.

Yes...very similar, but they are 2 different systems. SA is more of an active system that works with Distronic Plus for active cruise control. LKS is more of a safety system that vibrates the wheel to alert you and uses braking at worst to avoid drifting in another lane. Good ? on the buttons, I actually dont have the system/option on my vehicle, so not 100% sure on which does what.

Well gosh, not sure how to get definitive answer. My salesman doesn't know for sure, website says comes standard heated, DOG doesn't mention, and some sales people say no heat available on 63s. I have arthritic hands, so I'd actually choose the 43 if there is no heated wheel in the 63

I had the same problem as you when I was shopping. the sales people don't really know whats actually on the car and its very difficult to separate out what exact options are on the car. For example, I wanted my car to keep me in my lane, steer me back to center, warn me if I am going to rear-end someone, and keep me the same distance from the car in front of me when I engage cruise control. Now, there are lots of different names for these systems and lots of different options packages. I ended up giving up on these systems because in order to get one on the lot optioned out like this was going to be too expensive. So I bought a car that supposedly didn't have any of those mentioned systems. But it turns out that my car actually does warn me if I am going to rear-end someone. I assume it will brake too if I get close enough. So even though the sales guy said it doesn't have "radar", it actually does. Except it doesn't have "radar cruise control". Also, I got the "Parktronic" system. The sales guys said its just 360 cameras and it won't park itself. However, the manual says it will park itself. I haven't tested yet to be sure.
So my point is, I doubt you are going to get a straight answer from any dealer. Maybe try driving every car in your area until you find one lol Its fun to shop. If you are going to order one, maybe try calling/emailing MB directly and see if you can get a real answer.

That said, maybe EuroGermantown can double, super, secret confirm again with Dieter in Germany. I don't see a 63 on their lot that they could check.

FYI the steering wheel heating button is the twistable end of a lever on the left side behind the steering wheel. I know this because my E350 has the button and it hasn't changed since I bought my car.

You cannot get the flat bottom steering wheel heated, only the round ones. Skip this option unless you live someplace with harsh very winters.

If you read the disclaimer on the website it says "Not available with some interior colors.". I don't have it on my black interior. If it were there is would be on the steering wheel adjustment stalk. I did have it on my ML and it was nice but as far as I know it's really just a mistake on the website for the GLC 63.
