Wheel and tire help

I put a order in for a 2018 grey metallic amg63 with 21"s last week. Can't wait but they said about 5 months out, anyway I'd like to purchase a complete set of 21" all season run flats and wheels to swap out for our long Michigan winters instead of swapping tires every 6 months. I know I could of stayed with the 20"s but preferred the look of the 21", the price I'm having to pay for vanity but it beats calf implants. If anyone could give me the specs on the wheels ie offset, bore size and tire size plus any recommendations I'd appreciate it. Go Blue!

Why not do 20's for the winter setup? You'll have a much easier time if you do. To my knowledge, there are only a couple options for AS tires that fir the 21" wheels and there are no options for winter tires that fir the 21" GLC 63 wheels. There are quite a few good performance AS and true winter tire options for the 20" OTOH.

I say go for the calf implants.
I've got a link somewhere for the wheel specs/tire sizes. I'll look it up in a bit.

MB recommendations here...

https://mbworld.org/forums/glc43-glc...endations.html

No 21” winter wheels/tires recommended. There may be some aftermarket solutions, but not many, I’m guessing.

Probably have to go custom to get the widths and offsets the same. I've looked at almost everything and can't find exactly what I want either, you're either not wide enough up front or need to run spacers, or a combination of both. For custom BC Forged has some pretty nice options and reasonable prices for forged wheels.

I contacted this place, but they won't ship to US. But at least their website will tell you the specs of the 21" wheels for GLC63. I've been researching this as well, because I have the 20" with summer tires and I wanna upgrade to 21".
For now, it seems that the only option is to get it custom.https://www.kunzmann.de/shop/en/tire...sign-black.htm

Product description:

Genuine Mercedes-Benz AMG rim set from the GLC 63 AMG SUV & Coupé X253/C253.
  • size: 21 inch
  • colour: black matt / glossy rim flange
  • recommended tire size:
    • front axle - 265/40 ZR 21 (105Y) Extra Load
    • rear axle - 295/35 ZR 21 (107Y) Extra Load
Scope of delivery:
  • 2x AMG forged rim in 9,5x21 wheel offset 30
  • 2x AMG forged rim in 10x21 wheel offset 28
Here's another website:

http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/mer...ged_wheel_5598

....and bore for these wheels is 5x112

I think I want to go the other way with a winter set up. Based on the limited research that I have done, there appears to be more winter tire options at 20" versus 21". I have the 21" forged OEMs with summer tires. So I think I would have to go to a 255/45 & 285/40 staggered set up with 20" wheels. Not sure if offset remains 30 & 28 and at 9.5 & 10. There do not appear to be many truly "affordable" options for winter wheels right now. Nothing on Tire Rack yet. I tried a few other sites. AR Motorwerks on the forum has Zito wheels, which I am unfamiliar with. I will keep checking the web as we head into the fall.

If you're doing a 20" wheel setup for winter, my GLC63 specs are 9.5x20 front and 10x20 rear. Offset is still 30 & 28. Tires are 265/45 & 295/40.

Has anyone looked into doing a non-staggered setup? There seems to be more options with having a non-staggered setup. I see a lot of OM wheels for GL63 that should fit the GLC63, but they are 21x10 for all four wheels (also different offset and will have to use spacers). I'm just curious how going from staggered to non-staggered affects the drive? If there is a MB thread about this already, can anyone direct me there?

2018 GLC 43 & 2014 SLK 350, gone 2016 E63 Wagon
Prior to my 2018 GLC 43 (21"), I had a 2016 E63S wagon. The stock summer tires were staggered 19" (255/35 front and 285/30 rear) but I went to non staggered 19" at all four corners (255/35) Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 winter. This setup worked flawlessly and I did not find any difference in the handling during the winter months - obviously in slippery conditions you are not as quick off the line as you might be with no snow. There is absolutely no need to go for wider tires in the back during the winter. From a cost perspective the wider tires are more expensive and limit the selection of tires.
For my GLC 43, I took the same approach 19" Pirelli Scorpion Winter 235/55 (MB recommended package). Last winter, as in my E63, performance was great. I love the look of the summer staggered set-up but it really doesn't matter since snow and salt make it hard to keep it clean. On the fence about winter vs "all season" tires ? - if you encounter snow/ice during winter you are far better off with true winter tires compared to all seasons.

Very very slow
Just like Tylbran, I went with 19'' rims for winter tires but I went with 255/50 tires all four corners instead.
I want to keep the aggressive look somewhat.
It rides much better than the 20'' Goodyear run flat tires that came with the car.
I am not sure if 19'' rims will fit the 63's ( i think it will) but if they do then it's not a bad alternative.
You'll get more tire choices, not to mention it'll be cheaper too.

I’m sticking to 20s and a staggered set up for my winters. Still researching wheel options. I’ve got feelers out. Tire Rack has no wheels, they haven’t measured the 63S in their system. Vossen has a flow formed option, they have posted on the forum, HRE has an option too. AR Motorwerks has Zito wheels, and I have a note out wrt Avant Garde. If anyone has found other options, please share on the forum. I’m not looking at forged for winters too pricey. Thanks.

Spoke with one aftermarket wheel manufacturer, great customer service. They need the brake measurement in order to prepare a brake template in order to make sure their wheel fitment will clear the brakes. So far, no one that I have contacted has a brake template for the GLC63S. If anyone has had a brake measurement done for the S Coupe, I would appreciate it if you could post or send a PM. I might have to go and get a full brake measurement done otherwise.

One of the vendors in another wheel discussion on this subforum said they had gotten measurements for the S coupe but not the SUV. i believe it was the HRE post. browse through he vendor posts, it is in there somewhere.

I contacted a vendor about the HRE FF04 in staggered 20" and they are telling me it is not available in GLC configuration but the FF15 is. Too many spokes on that model, i am not really a fan.

Right now I am looking at the AG Wheels M621 in 20" staggered setup. color still undecided.

I sent you a PM just now with new information.
HRE has created two new fitments for the GLC63 with their FF04 wheels (a 20" & 21" option). You guys are the basically the first ones to find this out as I myself just learned of it while chatting with them yesterday.

Anybody needing any info on this just send me a quick PM.

Just order these in 19x8.5 with 25 Offset for my 63 SUV with 235/55-19 Blizzak DM-V2 square setup. Manufacturer said they would not fit but the local dealer and I were confident that they were just basing that on our model not being listed. We ordered one wheel and it fits fine and looks just like my stock 21".

I have a GLC43 not a 63 and went with a 20" staggered set up ( I also purchased mine with the optional 21"runflat option that sucks *** in weather below 45 degrees-wtf)
My winter set up:
O.Z. Superturismo Dakar
Matte Graphite Silver
Fr 20x8.5 offset 30MM - 255/45/20
Rr 20x10 offset 26mm - 285/40/20
TPMS and bolts (stockers wont work)
Wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Snows
I will try and post pix next week when they go on
Getting the entire car Ceramic coated this weekend

cheers,
Affalterthought
