glc amg63 vs bmw go6 x5
I have been watching the development of the bmw for a couple of years and have a tentative build for december. this is a new platform they are bringing our and has a v8 engine. i started reading the forums and stoped at a dealer and was able to see a glc300 since they had no amg stock. I have a feeling the amg might be a lot funner to drive and i am 63 so kids are gone. we have a audi q7 presige for driving on trips and such. i like the idea of a smaller rig and i want that get up and go but i also like all the tech in the bmw.
Have any of you guys compared these two cars. its kinda hard since none are out to see. I have not driven either.
Please give me your thoughts.

Isn't the x5 closer in size to the GLE??
I cross shopped my GLC43 with the X3 that had an M package. Like 355 hp. It was definitely sportier as far as cornering and the loud exhaust, but the merc was WAY more comfortable and had much better aesthetics. I tried to give them a chance, but BMWs are just plain ugly IMO

If you have the time to wait, I would wait for the refresh if the tech is important to you, or lease the GLC63. I drove both the 43 and 63. The 43 has good power and has snappier handling. The 63 is an animal but you feel the weight. Why not consider a C43/63 since it is a refresh, and you already have a Q7?

my thoughts were a suv, since i have driven a toyota truck for the last 15 years,i was thinking the suv could still carry small tools and parts. I have an nsx and only take it out once every couple years since it a bit of a hassle to get in.

the X5 is definitely in a different class. it offers 3 row seating just like the comparable GLE is going to offer in the refresh.
the closest thing to the GLC is the X40 M sport. if you compare that, then your decision might be easier.

The mx40 was fun to drive but it is not as easy to equip with the nicer interior components.I think when the two cars eventually get here and i can compare it will make deciding more logical.

Save yourself the HUGE loss on the X5 and get the GLC. You will enjoy the car much more. The burple of the V8 is intoxicating!!!!!

if you want more tech, wait for the 2020 GLC refresh
if you want the X5, wait for the new GLE
again, you can not compare the X5 to a GLC in size, it is very very different
or sell the Q7 and get both!
enjoy the AMG V8s while you can, only a couple of years left before they get replaced by all electric powertrains

I was shopping for wife new car and compare GLC43 with x3M40....
Her current was x5 and she wants something smaller but have at least the same amount of tech, safety and luxury.
Ended up with BMW. Besides fully loaded it costs 10K less, the electronics, camera resolution, interior, sound are better in x3.
GLC has too many cheap elements for the price and AMG status.
