2018 GLC43 Lease, Should I?

I have 8 lease payments left a 2017 C300 coupe. Dealer called today and has a new 2018 GLC43, sticker price is $69,625 that they will sell for $60,000. He said they would take care of 3 of the remaining payments and quoted $914/month including taxes & fees with zero down and 15,000 miles/year on a 48 month lease. Good deal?

48 month lease on a 2 model year old car? that is quite deep. you do not sound like a candidate for lease at those numbers. without knowing residual value and money factor, they could easily roll any "giveaways" into that $914 payment.
that is 43,872 in payments. how much of that is interest and what would the car be worth after? $10,000?

On the surface, the discount on supposed MSRP looks pretty attractive, but without some of the other numbers like viper mentions, it’s hard to tell. MB’s and especially AMG’s don’t really lease that well and for that monthly payment/term, you might as well just buy the thing. If you don’t like after a few years you can just sell or trade. Leasing doesn’t really make sense for the majority of car shoppers unless they own a business, IMHO.

Thanks for the replies.

I did get the residual, $27,154 and money factor 0.00088. Do those change anything?

So, looks like a 39% residual and rate of 2.112%, which is pretty good in this rate environment. I show a 6.25% sales tax rate for TX for the vehicle...is that correct and is there a local sales tax? What are the fees? I'm coming up with a total monthly payment of $808.55, which is quite a bit different than the $914 you were quoted, but I don't know what fees they are charging or if I'm using the correct sales tax rate(s). Seems to be a pretty big difference and if my numbers are correct, they are tacking on some larger fees to make up for some things.

Either way, it doesn't really change my mind to spend that much for a lease. Good luck!

you are good on the sales tax.

I like the residual if it is true but like the calculation is showing, it does not add up to the payment quote.

Texas requires sales tax on the full value of the car unlike some states which is a lease disadvantage to me if you are going to turn in the car in 3 years or so.

even if we decide on dealer and tiling fees of 300-500, it still does not add up to that payment.

~ I inquired about leasing my new '18 glc43 with the same msrp price as you noted but decided to simply purchase it for about another $200 per month. This way I have something to show for it once it's paid off. AMG MB cars typically lease poorly.
