Aluminum Rocker Panel Trim
I've seen images of a few GLC63 with brushed aluminum trim on the rocker panel. Seems like there is an indentation for this trim piece to be adhered to the existing rocker panel. Anyone know if this can be done and if so how to get a hold of the part.

Unfortunately, you'll need someone in Europe to order and then ship to you in the USA...if you really want it. My guess is that the picture makes it look like it's an indentation, but it probably just sticks (3M tape) or hooks/screws onto the lower rocker somehow.

I think he's just looking for the trim piece extension. The 43s don't have it...one of the reasons why I liked the step plate better. The 43 looks rather unfinished to me. the 63 is at least a $2K piece.

Bringing this back from the dead! I just acquired a GLC63 and would also like the silver trim pieces as well. From the research I have done, looks like the trim pieces are available but they "clip" into the rocker which mine does not have the holes for. Has anyone else attempted or completed this project? I'm wondering if the pieces can be had and trim off the tabs to apply with 3m tape instead?

What does your car have now? Running boards or the standard skirts? The 63 should have either black or silver trim inserts on the skirts if not optioned with running boards?

So my GLC did not have the optional step running boards, came with skirts. It also did not have the night package. So my skirts are standard with no inserts. Only the night package skirts have the black inserts. I have not seen any from the factory, at least that I've found, to have the inserts in silver. But MB does sell the silver inserts, only problem is it comes with clips, which my skirts have no holes for. I could also add the skirts from the night package I suppose but the cost starts to add up... may order one section of the silver insert and see if the clips can be removed and secure it with 3m tape.

So mine is a 2020 GLC43 and came with the GLC300 style side skirts. I had to order the 63 skirts, which are wider/taller than what came on car and the silver trim insets. The inserts are silver painted plastic and not real aluminum. They have clips that lock into holes on the 63 style skirts. See pics of the factory skirts and then the 63 skirts with inserts.

Since you worked with them first hand, may I ask you your opinion? Since I already have the wider and indented skirts, just without the holes for the trim pieces to clip into, would it be feasible to cut or grind off the clips and attache them onto the skirts with 3m automotive tape? I believe the trim pieces have some tape on them in addition to the clips, correct me if i'm wrong...

Ah, the trim pieces have several clips that go thru holes in the skirts and lock against a raised ridge on backside of the skirts. The trim has to be installed with the skirts off the car in order to lock them into place. Not sure if automotive tape would be sufficient since that area gets a lot of road splash, etc. I know you can just get the silver trim only thru EuroActive or dealerships.

I finally found a pic showing the side skirts you have. I don’t think the trim inserts will fit on top of the molded in trim that’s already on them. The ones I bought are not raised like yours. They have channels for the trim pieces molded into them. Think you’d have the replace the side skirts in order to install the silver trim pieces.

Glad to help!
Here's what I ordered:
Side skirts right and left: A-253-698-51-00 and A-253-698-28-00
Silver trim inserts (4 pcs): A-253-698-59-00, A-253-698-60-00, A-253-698-52-00, and A-253-698-53-00
You can reuse the existing fastening hardware from your current skirts (Per side: 2 push-in fasteners, 2 screws and 6 nuts).
Good luck!
