GLC 43 reliability and designo leather

I am on the hunt for a new car and I was wondering what peoples experience has been with the GLC 43's reliability. I haven't heard the best about AMG reliability but since this isn't a full AMG I was thinking it might be better for a daily car. I was also wondering if the 2017 model year cars had the option for the designo leather seats and if so if they are worth finding a car that has them. I love the look of them and I have a terrible back so comfortable seats are very important to me. Thanks y'all.

The GLC43 will be as reliable as any GLC for most systems, the difference is in the engine. Generally, higher power engines are driven in such a way that the driver enjoys the increased power, which can lead to more stress and wear on the vehicle, all other things being equal.

The 3.0L V6 Bi-Turbo is based on the M276 which is now generally reliable. Some early versions need timing chain tensioners replaced. However with turbos and higher power, there is increased opportunity for reduced reliability due to complexity and customer usage profile.

Designo is an option on the 2019 GLC300, not sure if that was the case in 2017. A quick check on CarGurus didn't come up with any 2017 GLC300 with designo.

I have a love hate relationship with my GLC43. Love the looks, awesome engine, gorgeous interior. Hate the teeth rattling ride, crappy run flat tires, creaks and rattles everywhere. Also the 4 recalls gave me a bad first impression.
Hate is gonna win soon, so probably will say goodbye.

I have a 2018 GLC43 with designo platinum white/black interior. I have not had any problems with the vehicle that I have had since December 2017. The interior is great - the only challenge is keeping the white leather clean if you wear blue jeans consistently. The simple solution is to clean the leather with a damp cloth regularly. This is my daily driver and I do not have any problems with comfort. Since this is an AMG, the ride is firmer than the typical North American vehicle. My previous vehicle was an E63S wagon which had a similar ride to the GLC43. There have been absolutely no problems with my vehicle (no rattles, etc.). I use winter tires when the temperatures are low so I have not experienced the "crabbing" issue mentioned by others. Summer tires do not perform well at low temperatures. I would not hesitate in recommending this vehicle.

I've had mine since Aug 2018. About 16k miles currently. Its been a great car and no major issues. It does have some dash creaks in warmer weather, but its not so bad that I have felt like taking it in. One day I might, but its low on my list of priorities.

I absolutely love this car and I came form a lexus IS350 which is pretty much the pinnacle of reliability
