GLC 63 S Coupe off road capabilities?
I currently have a 2012 C coupe, which I absolutely love, but need an SUV. I live in the PNW so I go snowboarding in the winter, and hiking in the summer. I was going to get a 4Runner but don’t want to leave Mercedes. I’m not going to go crazy off road, but still be in some deep snow or rocky logging roads with potholes. What’s everyone’s experience in these conditions? Is the ground clearance enough or something to be desired? I do plan on getting winter tires.

I have a GLC63 here in Michigan and have had to occasionally drive through 6-12" if snow and with snow tires, there are not any problems. Our roads are bad, but definitely not logging road bad. A 4 Runner would be better in 2'-3' of snow, it just depends on how often you are going to be on roads that are not maintained. I have always approached buying a car for 80% of how/where you drive and not the 20%. My car has been great in the snow here, which is often but not very deep.

Good to know. Compared to my C, anything will be an improvement in that area. To be fair, it takes snow like a champ as long as it’s not too deep. The forest service roads here are usually ok but can have many deep potholes or very rocky. My car does well on quite a few so I think the slightly extra clearance here is better. I agree, this will be my daily so the overall majority is highway.
