GLC 63 S Warranty Issue

I brought my GLC 63S privately in Feb 2022. I had it pre-checked by an authorised MB service centre and they gave it the all clear.
the first time I drove it I heard a whinging sound from the engine bay. After a few trips to the MB dealership they tried replacing a few parts but the sound didn’t disappear.
FYI the vehicle still had 10 months left on the 3 year Manufacturers warranty. They agreed the sound isn’t right and it’s a warranty issue.
eventually in June they asked me to bring it in and leave with them so they can do extensive testing with support from MB HQ in Germany
so they believe that it’s the oil pump and need to replace it. The part will be here in about 3-4 weeks.
it’s now August, 3 months after I left it with them and 7 months after I pointed out the issue.
the dealer has been absolutely awesome and tried to look after me with a decent loan car and regular updates.
my grievance is that I have not had the pleasure of a defect free car since I brought it, 7 months ago, and it’s taken forever to find the issue, assuming the replacement oil pump is the issue
Should MB be doing more? Should they offer to extend my manufacturers warranty by say 6 months?
I just feel after spending big $$ I’ve been robbed of some of my enjoyment and trouble free motoring.
I love the car - it’s a sensational drive and sound, but the gloss is gone and I’m hesitant to hold on to it knowing the process has been long and they really haven’t given me confidence at all that they will step up if something else goes wrong, especially with the warranty coming to an end
anyone have any similar experience or advice on how to get MB to give me back the confidence I need?

So you bought a pre-owned AMG and are having some issues? Nothing new, these are complicated vehicles. MB doesn't care, sounds like the dealer does though which is good. Personally I would never buy a pre-owned AMG, CPO or not. These are not low maintenance vehicles, no idea how it was driven or kept by previous owner(s). If your confidence is broken, perhaps move on as you will be always looking for the next issue which might or might never happen. Overall if oil pump, not a big deal. Good luck.

If you are not happy, then look up the lemon laws for your state and make them take it back (assuming your situation would qualify). Each states lemon laws can be different. As "places" said, pre owned 63's are like any other high performance car. More complicated and higher strung, more maint intensive and overall a "Pay to Play" kinda ride. They have been driven and not everyone treats them with love like alot would. I treated mine with love and who ever buys my C63 (I recently traded it in for a GLC43) will get a like new car with only 4K miles on it.

It is easy to have an issue with a car and come to "hate" the brand, if this has tainted your MB experience, then try something else.

over the 17 month period, I drove it for 10 months on and off, the other 7 months it was in the workshop and I had loan cars.
they replaced many pulleys, chains and associated parts
the AMG flying technician dropped in on his way to Australia (I’m in NZ)
Ultimately a simple issue that took over a year to find

Hope you get to start enjoying the car more now that it is all sored out. Doesn't sound like it was anything major and it was gone through in detail, so you should be able to enjoy it worry free.

I actually sold the car to the local Merc dealer and brought another one from elsewhere.
