GLC AMG 21" wheels on GLE?

It appears this 21" wheel comes with black (possibly dark grey) accents or you could go with all black...
The overall diameter of the tires on the GLC would be too small. I could only discern the front size in a couple photos, which is 265/40-21, which compares to the GLE's 275/45-21s. As I noted, the width of the wheels are probably 1/2" narrower than the GLE's, but I run 10mm wider tires on my ML's stock wheels with no issues (and better curb protection).

Are there larger diameter tires available to fit these wheels that would be the correct diameter for the GLE?

Of course, the same tires that come on the GLE's 21s. The only issue would be to verify the wheel width would accommodate them.

Just left the dealer. I know there are odd reasons for everything, but I just can't figure out why the AMG EXTERIOR package cannot be ordered with the 811 high end audio system. There just seems to be a few odd mutual exclusions at this point. I'm leaning toward waiting for a while before ordering for some of these things to possibly shake themselves out.

Strange, the Preliminary D.O.G. doesn't say anything about the AMG Exterior Package to be a restriction to get 811.

Look at the DG1 AMG Line Exterior package in the Option Package Section for the Dec 13 DOG. Caught me off guard too. Netstar brought me back down to earth.

You are right, I just noticed.
In my case I wanted to get the standard leather not the Nappa one but it's not available with the AMG Line Interior Package that I'll be getting.

That's what I mean. I want this but can't have it with that. I wanted MBTex but couldn't get it with multicontour/massage seats (mainly to keep wife quiet). There are a few other examples as well. Some I get why. Some I don't, like why does a basically exterior trim package influence a sound system.

Another thing my dealer couldn't confirm, nor could the corporate technology trainer he emailed, if the navigation feature has an aerial option (akin to Google Earth view) and if it is available no matter what magnification level. Any input from knowledgeable individuals? The other SUV's I was looking at do (Cayenne and even the Range Rover crappy system does) so I assume it does, but it's important to me to make sure it is available on the MBUX system. I work with maps and am often in the field and could use it. Yeah, I have it on my phone and tablet/laptop that I take with me, but I will use it in my vehicle as well. Thanks

You may be right but I must have missed it if true. Netstar has had a number of errors so just because you can’t order isn’t necessarily correct. I know Joe had a number of issues previously mentioned. My dealers Netstar wouldn’t let me order Brown Walnut trim so the dealer had to call to get it added. There are options on Netstar not in the DOG. It will probably be January before another DOG is out, hopefully not labeled Preliminary.

There has only been one tidbit suggesting not until later this year. As I recall it suggested that it would be announced late spring. My dealer had no info a few weeks ago although they had an approximate timeline for the 450 a year ago. I got tired of waiting.

There isn't any "port" involved, since these come from Alabama. VPC is in Alabama, then cars go by train and/or truck to dealer's location.

I missed enumerating that in my DOG update recap (#1537) but had noted it in my 12/13 spreadsheet update. Very odd. I cannot fathom a technical or marketing reason - must be an error.

I had company so didn’t finish. You might log in to MB and send them a message with your issues/questions. They would be able to tell you for sure.

Not from my experience - they can't tell you much. Dealer might be able to get more info if they choose to dig.

It worked for me. They answered several questions and confirmed availability of the trim. Not all dealers will dig very hard since they may assume the DOG is correct.

I sent an email but not expecting a lot. The dealers around here won't dig too much. They act clueless, but I suspect it just too much trouble for them when someone will buy the car without asking a bunch of questions.

Thanks.
I've decided to wait and go for a nicely optioned 53 (thinking more will be standard) vs an ultra loaded 450. Thoughts?

I'm a big fan of online configurators, even if I cant understand a word they are saying. In this case, I notice the GLE450 is up on the MB german site, so I started playing around with it to get a better idea of things

In my case its helped me decide on a color (white) and AMG exterior packet

I also see you guys talking about the wheels alot, you can go nuts with the wheels with it

https://www.mercedes-benz.de/passengercars/content-pool/tool-pages/car-configurator.html/carconfig?rccVehicleModelId=167119&rccNationalSale sType=000

On a side note, I got to see the car in person and the packaging is truly phenominal as expected. What was disappointing was the quality of the 'leather' on the touch surfaces. It seemed like some faux leather to me that comes across a bit cheap. Thats to be expected in a car of this class, the disappointing part is that we cant get a full leather interior option. I believe the car really needs it. Maybee in an AMG version later on. Other then that, I really loved seeing the car in person, really amazing packaging.

The electric supercharger would do it for me but I’ve waited over a year and decided to pull the trigger. They will need to do more to the 53 than wheels so one would think that there will be more standard equipment and some unique features. The rumor mill has the Coupe next and the 53 to follow. Other than the delay there shouldn’t be much downside.

Ours will be my wife’s.DD as well, but I’m spec’ing it to my tastes. Thus the AMG packages and E-ABC. When we take trips I have enjoyed the Handling Package with Active Curve on our ML, so looking for to the next level experience.

We're a single car family so my wife and I both will be driving the new GLE. We'll be trading our MY17 GLS which is our 3rd GL/GLS. We've enjoyed all three but we became empty-nesters in the past year and the GLE makes more sense. I read yesterday the 2020 GLS may be revealed at the NY Auto Show. If not there, I would think Geneva for sure. I expect the dash and front seating area to be nearly identical to the GLE (grab handles and all).

Yeah, we've been playing with that for a couple months when there was no other info out there. BTW, at least with Chrome you can translate the site well enough to understand things. Here's mine:

As far as leather, are you sure the car you saw (LA show?) had leather? Even with leather seats, the dash and perhaps the door panels are faux leather (MBTex). There are three upgraded Nappa leathers available for the seats, but only in black or black/white.
