I agree! Remember an apparent Benz factory guy posted that they might move some to be a decade earlier. My build date has not changed but hoping it moves closer to Joe’s date.

We just received the MSRP-$72,000
No pricing on options yet.
Order is confirmed and showing start of production week1-Feb
Order revision-remove E-active body control, change interior to Blk leather, trim changed to H18 and sport pkg changed to night pkg.
Cheers
Not much detail but still looking like an early build. Price is Canadian. Current GLE 400 MSRP here is $67,100.

Regardless my 2018 auto expenses including lease, insurance, fuel and maintenance were less than 1.7% of my income. I like the GLE for several reasons but its a budget automobile for me.

I'd support that. I sold my vacation property in the US the month after your current orange clown was elected and haven't been back to the states since. Which is too bad - I love the US, just not its current political mess.

Canadian pricing
It went from $67 - 85k? That seems a little extreme. That can't be right, either, unless there's a little Additional Dealer Profit in there.

Canadian pricing
- Current US GLE 400 is US$55,700 = CA$74,400
- Current CA GLE 400 is US$50,300 = CA$67,100
- New price US GLE 450 is US$61,150 = CA$81,700
- tery price CA GLE 450 is $US63,650 = CA$85,000
- MLBlue price CA GLE 450 is $US54,000 = CA$72,000
And MLBlue's price is CA$5k above current 400 (sounds reasonable) but CA$10k less than US price?
Something is not making sense to me. Need a spreadsheet!

That was my guess. Are the prices on the Canadian website already discounted? Otherwise 400>450 is going up CA$18k? In the US all discounting is done at the dealer level. Well, apparently cost is no object to MLBlue.

Easily the most comprehensive review available. Unfortunately I don't understand a word of it as it's in German, however that didn't stop me from watching the entire 1:24:00 of it. Enjoy folks...]

I agree with you on wheels as a personal preference but also realize that this is probably minor to a lot of people. The majority of GLE’s will be sold without fancy wheels. Colors and accessory choices are hard to change after purchase but wheels aren’’t.

EPA certification
Someone posted here this afternoon about whether the shutdown of the EPA could have an impact on the GLE launch, then deleted the post. I think it's a reasonable question since certification is required. I would think that would be completed by now but it's a question.

Reading that EPA response literally it doesn’t really say anything. It doesn’t say yes or no, just that they don’t have any information on the status to disclose. Since the drive train is used in another certified vehicle there wouldn’t be much to the certification. And it’s been months since production started so it’s not likely an issue but anything is possible.

Not to burst your bubble, but when the GLC300 was introduced, which had the very same engine as the C300, they were stacked up at the ports for weeks, waiting for certification. If I recall correctly, our car sat at the port for over 6 weeks before the certification was complete and the cars could be released to dealers. It was majorly frustrating. And that was during a time when the government wasn't mostly furloughed. It's a new car and it really doesn't matter if the engine resides in another car already rolling on US roads.

It matters to the extent that the engine is in production and Mercedes has it tuned, waiting for a chassis. As you posted long ago they started some production in July or August. Prototypes running long before that. If a government shutdown a few weeks ago is going to cause a delay now then that’s on Mercedes IMO. This is their bread and buterSUV and should have priority among other MB models. Like I said anything’s possible, but EPA certification delays are relatively rare occurrences.

I've been lurking for a long time on this end of the forum, since I moved on to my E450. It's fun to see the excitement you and many others have in anticipation for your new GLE450. I hope for all your sake, the new GLE isn't hung up in certification. The GLC300 was in the very same position as the new GLE though. So don't be surprised if it get's hung up in the certification process. I just remember how utterly frustrating it was to hear week after week our GLC300 was built and sitting at the port, but couldn't be released for weeks because it was still going through certification. Our dealer had sold all their GLK's which the GLC300 replaced, but couldn't get any GLC's just sitting at the port. Our dealer was frustrated as well.

You are always on top of relavent info on Mercedes and have contributed a lot here. You are also way ahead of us poor souls waiting and waiting having enjoyed your new ride for months. I don’t need mine right away but it would be nice to see a Configurator and pricing to see if I’m getting what I think I ordered. The anticipation builds though no matter how much I tell myself there’s no rush. It will be nice to see Greg and others take delivery and get some owner feedback.
I feel your pain as I've been through this multiple times. The good news is they finally show up one day and then the pain of waiting seems like a distant pain. The minute they have the GLE's in stock, I'll definitely take one for a test drive.
