Has anyone else read or heard that the 2020 GLE is now ready for sale? I imagine it will take a few weeks for them to hit the dealers though.
And 18-24 months before we see them on MBUSA.

I read that a dealer near me (ACC) stated they “were released” and they were “waiting” their arrival. So I’m assuming it will take a few weeks and be at dealerships.
Canadian pricing for packages and standalone options
I went to my dealer on Friday to reserve our car and put a deposit.
Throughout our conversation, he kept saying he didn’t know the prices of the options/packages.
well, the moment we took out our cards to pay the deposit, his tune changed. When selecting the options we wanted, the client facing tool has $0.00 for each line item. Great new review. Interestingly he doesn’t seem to like the E-ABC system at all and much prefers the drive of the 350 w/out it (either due to weight or lack of the system). Some other interesting takes in there...
Base on few reviews which are getting between 25-28 mph combined and 27 mpg on the highway with a 24.5 gallon tank, that's gonna net near 600 plus cruising range which is amazing for this gasoline engine!!! We are diesel fans given the long commute for work daily and had a 2013 ML350 bluetec with 28 mpg highway and 27 gallon tank and now a 2015 BMW X5 diesel which lease is extended till April when the GLE comes and that gets 31 mpg on a 22 gallon tank. So this new GLE450 I ordered falls in between both., Im excited!!!
Here is an explanation of the non E-ABC Air Suspension that includes ADS Plus as part of the package!
AIRMATIC package. In combination with the ADS PLUS Adaptive Damping System, the air suspension delivers excellent road roar and tyre vibration characteristics and outstanding driving dynamics to the road or the track. The damping at each wheel is adapted to the current driving situation and road surface condition. The fully variable, gradually adjustable, adaptive damping system effectively counteracts rolling and pitching movements when cornering or braking. The roll angle when cornering can be compensated for to even better effect in conjunction with the ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM (468). Use the "Comfort" and "Sport" setting to choose between a more comfortable or a sportier AIRMATIC Package configuration. The pneumatic all-round self-levelling system ensures a constant vehicle level irrespective of the load. In "Sport" drive mode the vehicle is lowered by -15 mm and in "Sport+" it is lowered by -25 mm. In "Comfort" driving mode the vehicle automatically lowers to sport level (-15 mm) from speeds of 80 km/h. This brings about elements including a less drag and it further boosts the vehicle's stability.
Edit: I think the road roar tire characteristics is a way of saying that there will be less noise and vibration transmitted through the suspension.

There are three suspensions available on the GLE:
1. Steel springs
2. AIRMATIC (which is exactly what Ron is referring to)
3. E-ABC (more involved than AIRMATIC)

I have one question that I haven't been able to find a concrete answer to: According to the latest Dealer Order Guide (page 38), the "MBUX Technology Package (DA0PKG)" requires "MB-Tex Dashboard and Door Beltlines (U09)". Does that imply that the Technology Package is not available if I want the "Dashboard and Door Beltlines in Nappa Leather" (code U38 on page 40) instead of in MB-Tex?
The reason I ask is the German MB online configurator (which already has the 2020 GLE) seems very strict with not allowing incompatible combinations, yet it does allow the Leather beltlines/dashboard with the Technology Package. See for example this page (it's understandable if you allow Chrome to translate the page from German).
Select the "MBUX innovation package" (includes Head-Up Display and MBUX interior assistant, and will also automatically add the augmented reality for navigation). This is essentially the same as the US "Technology package". It will also force you to add the "Instrument panel and curbs of the doors in leather reproduction ARTICO", which is basically the "MB-Tex Dashboard and Door Beltlines" from the US DOG, right?
However, if you scroll to the bottom of the page and expand the "Show all equipment" arrow, there are 2 options:
Instrument panel and curbs of the doors in nappa leather 1,785.00 euros
Instrument panel and curbs of the doors in leather reproduction ARTICO 1,071.00 euros
You can alternate between both of those options and the configurator won't scream at you. It will allow you to keep the Technology package even with the leather beltlines and dashboard. So, is the US DOG misleading on this point? Does the Technology Package really require the MB-Tex beltlines/dashboard, or can it also be combined with the leather option?
As a bonus question, it seems odd that in the US DOG, the MB-Tex option and the leather option are priced identically at $700, yet in the German configurator the leather option is ~80% more expensive. I think someone made a similar comment earlier in this thread.
Another bonus question: If you don't want the Technology Package, then it seems you don't have to select either the MB-Tex or the Leather options for the beltlines/dashboard? In that case, what material is used? Just some basic plastic?

Either MB-Tex or leather should be compatible with MBUX Tech. The leather dash came out as an option later & I think the DOG hasn’t caught up. Have a dealer check on their NetStar system. The pricing is an obvious error. U09 came out at $450 with U38 at $700, then changed to both at $700. Not sure which of the two is in error, as that’s the way they were in NetStar last week.

I think they are made for children so they have easier access climbing to their seats.
I've had the illuminated running boards on our last 3 GLS's and have decided to skip them on our new GLE. Here's why:
1. They are shallow and do not provide much of a step but may be useful for elderly or children but in general. For my wife and I, nearly useless.
2. They tend to get my pant leg wet or dirty when exiting the vehicle on rainy days or during bad weather.

That is a beautiful color of Green Metalic. There aren’t a lot of Green vehicles for some reason, but they are very attractive when clean-like black.
I've had the illuminated running boards on our last 3 GLS's and have decided to skip them on our new GLE. Here's why:
1. They are shallow and do not provide much of a step but may be useful for elderly or children but in general. For my wife and I, nearly useless.
2. They tend to get my pant leg wet or dirty when exiting the vehicle on rainy days or during bad weather.
I agree with Joe and would add one more thing. In many cases the running boards make the vehicle more attractive and that isn’t true for the GLE, IMO. There are probably others that like the look.
