2020 GLE vs 2018 GLE 43
If this breaks forum etiquette please delete. I’ve been following the W167 for about a year and just looking for opinions on the various model options.
I have been waiting for the 2020 GLE, but have been wondering about good deals on 2018s. Even with a great deal on a 2018, it would seem the refresh offers such transformational upgrades that it might not be worth any amount of savings.
Would 25% off MSRP on a 2018 GLE 43 4matic be worth it over paying perhaps 6% off on the base model 2020 GLE. Would that even be a good deal? I’m not particularly good at negotiating having paid only 15% off on my 2016 E350 with the 2017 E300 refresh on the lot. I just liked the 2016 better. I’m thinking about offering the above as I think my wife might be able to navigate the older systems with more facility. She’s not a Luddite, but transitioning to new technology is not a facile feat for her. Would 25% off the 2018 be a good deal at this point?
I would have to balance a low learning curve and savings with purchasing something that is almost immediately antiquated. I have not regretted that with the 2016 E350 though.

I would think that 25% would be a great deal if you want the 2018. But then why the 43 that will eat up most of that discount over the GLE? You might find a GLE with the AMG package for a lot less just minus the performance? I’m new to Benz so could be mistaken.
I would think that the 2020 would be easier to use in a lot of ways and will have more advanced safety systems. There are a lot of changes to the new GLE besides Tech. My wife is far from Tech savy but has gradually become adept with her smart phone because she can use voice commands. In the long run your wife might like that feature in the 2020. It always gets down to a personal decision though.
