Issues

I’m waiting to return hoping that over time Mercedes will figure some of this out and my issues so far have been minor inconveniences. This lack of documentation is a first experience for me, surprising for a Luxury car. So far I have not determined any improvement from the updates and in fact have more issues than before.
Here are some recent new ones:
New Key Fob quit working to lock or unlock doors and hatch to include the touch feature or using the buttons. Shaking it didn’t work. Started working normally again later.
Kick to open is now inoperative the dozen times I tested.
The touch pad no longer works with Android Auto
The touch pad intermittently quits working with all applications including Quick Access. The select feature usually works but the swipe L/R and U/Down doesn’t. After a few minutes of driving it’s OK again.
Man, you've got a lot of niggles! My touchpad has been unresponsive a few times, but no fob issues at all. And my dealer documented all the software updates that were done on my invoice.

Another niggle (had to make sure I typed that correctly ) I've experienced is the driver's side seat kinetics working 90% of the time. The passenger seat kinetics work 100% of the time.

Now I have a new niggle....when I start out shifting to Drive the windshield wipers make a pass or two. Has happened three days in a row but only after sitting overnight. I thought at first that I had jiggled the wiper somehow but after paying attention there is no way since it’s on the opposite side. Parked in the garage there is no moisture on the windshield. My wife is betting that I don’t keep the car very long.

I have had that happen with every vehicle that I have owned that had rain sense wipers.

Well it didn’t do it once in the first 3 months and our 2 yr old Audi has never done it.

Interesting. I've had 3 Lexus (RX450h's), 3 Audis (A6, A4 and a TT), and 1 GMC (Yukon Denali) and it would happen occasionally on all of them. Maybe I have a cloud hanging over me!

I've had it happen regularly with various cars I've had with rains sensing wipers. Perhaps it is due to dust on the screen?
Solution, I put the rain sensing wiper switch to automatic when I know it will rain, otherwise, I keep the switch at off. Nothing is more annoying than smearing a bug on the windshield.

Mine works most if the time. I'm new to Benz but I think they changed to a new App. That might be a factor.
I received an OTA Map update and got an onscreen notice. MBUX should be very nice once they debug everything....I'm still optimistic.

Today I found another new issue probably as a result of the updates in late July. Now my Console switch to lower the car doesn’t work. It will raise the car and flashes that it’s doing that on the Driver screen. To lower nothing happens most of the time. The few times it lowered there was no message and once reaching bottom it reversed back up. The switch in the boot still works to lower for loading.

Today my “kick to open” worked after 2 weeks of not working.

Ugh, those are all software issues I am sure. I really hope MB has a team working on troubleshooting their code and getting ready to push updates & hotfixes.
I'd be extremely frustrated to receive a brand new vehicle I have waited for 6 months and then having to deal with such annoyances, while paying nearly $80K.

My console switch only raises the car. I have not had it able to lower the car at any time. To lower it I have to put it in either Sport for -1, or use the Easy Exit lowering feature -2.

Wondering if it would be possible to swap standard steering wheel with AMG wheel afterwards, really like the flat bottom

Steering wheel swap

Should be easy, but not inexpensive. Could possibly find one off a wreck down the road, but I think the take rate on the AMG Interior is pretty low.

vollelektrisches säckchen

Love German words! Found this little black nylon thing on the floor under the passenger seat that looked sort of like a skull cap with Velcro on one end. Along with some numbers, it said "Lear" on it and "vollelektrisches säckchen." Google translated to "fully electric bag." Figured out it s a cover that goes over all the electrical wires and connections at the front of the seat base. Kind of Mickey Mouse, but I guess it works.

Both that word and the one I posted Google broke into two words. Any way you look at it they're mouthfuls!

GLE 450 suspension and interior

Hello
Can anyone advise if the Airmatic suspension is worth getting or is the basic suspension sufficient?
also is the base MB-Tex interior sufficient or is the leather much better?
Any input on the air purification/air freshener and MBUX enhanced navigation and or surround view feature.
thank you for any thoughts.

Most of what you ask is personal preference.
The surround view is a must have for me.
MBUX Enhanced Nav is cool but not necessary for most.
My feeling on Leather is that it suits a Luxury Car better but the MB Tech might wear better. The Dynamica with MB Tech would be nice.
The Air Freshener wouldn’t be on my list but the Acoustic Comfort if you are in hot weather much.
