Am I getting a good deal/ price?

Just double-checking here - the MSRP for my build is $78,560, the selling price is $72,660. Is it a good selling price for a given MSRP? Attached is the actual build, in case anybody is curious.

8% off is an excellent price at this point in the game.

Thank you for chiming in, GregW - very helpful to get an independent perspective when negotiating with a dealer.

Agree with Greg that 8% is a good deal and would also offer (suggest) that you consider upgrading the wheels to one of the 20" or 21" options:

For what it is worth, I got 9% off MSRP on my order. My neighbor went to the same dealer and they wanted to give him less. He said that he needed 9% or he was walking. They gave him 9%. I ordered mine on February 26. I must admit that I was very surprised since anytime I ever tried to buy a new model that was just coming out, dealers would never negotiate with me. In this instance the MB dealer knew that I already had offers in hand from Audi, BMW, and Volvo. Maybe that helped. I can't be sure.

I think my math may be off... Is Destination Fee included in MSRP?

May I ask what deal you used? Willing to drive very long distance if needed from New York area to get a good deal.

Oh, yeah, the 19” standard tires look way undersized on this vehicle. Ride comfort is still good with the lower profile. And it’s personal preference and cost, but most think the AMG Line Exterior package looks far better, and you get larger brakes, functional exhaust outlets, etc.

The deals on the GLE450 is significantly better than the GLE350 basically due to demand. Dealers are not having the same demand and stock issue on the GLE450. Either way 9% or even 8% is a great deal and not something you are going to find on the GLE350, not even close.

You missed an earlier post for 9%....WA3CUJ bought a 350.

Also, if you're a United Premier member, you can get a certificate for $500 off that can be added on top of whatever price you agree to.

Also $500 off if you’ve been an MBCA member for a year or more (US):

Confused by this as surely due to the problems of dealers getting the 450 the deal would be worse.

And that's the story I am hearing - "oh no, we don't give discounts on 450 - it is so hard to come by as it is!" At least that's the starting sales pitch.

tiri 07-14-2019 01:35 AM

I had no discount on mine, sadly.

When my neighbor told them that he needed 9% it took them 3 days to get back to him. They didn't do it immediately.

Just thought I’d share my experience...
I’ve been watching this forum for quite sometime (around February)
I finally placed my order and officially a 2020 GLE 450 owner soon so I figured this was a good time to join.
My build MSRP is $78,310 got $4,000 off so slightly above 5% discount
Got it from a dealership 110mi away as the three dealerships in my hometown weren’t willing to budge. The one 3 miles away from me offered to “gladly match my offer” but I decided to give my business to the SA from out of town for willing to do whatever it takes to earn my business and it was a pleasure working with him.

I like that ... the dealership that's willing to work with you to arrive at a price that works for both of you is well worth your business over the place that says, " go get the best price you can from someone else and I guess we'll do the same."
