With the lip on the AMG wheel and the Gray color mine aren’t bad. As E Lizard said it’s about brake performance that the German cars excel in stoping distance. Our Audi SQ is much worse but wife wanted Chrome wheels and she lets me clean them,🥴

My experience with Mercedes and BMW is that they both produce a lot of "brake" dust. Part of this comes from the pads, and part from the rotors. The upside is they are quiet and work well in all but track conditions. I use Griot's Garage Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner weekly, along with 3 specialized brushes and Griot's Garage Brilliant Finish Car Wash. only takes about 2 minutes a wheel.

Wheel cleaning
13-spokes are super easy compared to my M4 with these 3 brushes:
Large Bendable Wheel Brush
Boars Hair Wheel Brush
Tire Scrubbing Brush
Spray wheels with wheel cleaner and tires with rubber cleaner. Hit tires with scrubbing brush, clean outer face of wheels with boars hair brush dipped in car wash solution, clean between spokes with the conical wheel brush.

Gentlemen! I beg thee! Don't waste your money!! Soap and water, a damp towel.....every couple of days........by you or the kid, if no kid.......train the neighbors kid. But don't waste that hard earned dough on shiny, fancy labeled spray bottles!

I would use SI02 based products like ICE Turtle Wax and spray it on your wheels after they have been cleaned. It really helps cleaning the wheels much faster. I just use water and soap if i have to hand wash.

I use simple green foam. I have been using simple green to clean wheels/rims on my cars now for the last 15 years. Just spray it directly on them let it sit for 5-10min depending on how bad they are then power wash them and they are clean. Once you do this you will never look back. I personally prefer the foam over the pray as it sticks better to the rim. The first link is my go to then if that is not available I get the second link.
