Engine Stats - Battery Voltage
I bought a GLE 580 a couple months ago and have been enjoying it.
One thing has me wondering: if you call up engine performance data you are shown horsepower, torque, and "Charge-air Press." (which I am assuming is turbo boost available).
The odd thing (to me) is that "Battery Voltage" is shown for the 12v system. Why is this useful? I would assume that it is of no use unless there is a problem with the 12v battery or the charging system (something I have encountered once in decades of driving - so an alert is better than using screen real estate all the time).
Wouldn't it be more interesting to have an indication of the 48v EQ Boost charge level (which I have not seen anywhere)? Or have I completely misunderstood something? It has me wondering if it the original intent was to show 48v battery charge, but got programmed incorrectly and the error wasn't noticed.
There is an indicator on the dash to let you know when the EQ Boost system is receiving charge or providing power, but that doesn't tell you anything you wouldn't have correctly guessed. I know the 48v system does not include a large battery pack, but I would have thought some indication of its readiness to provide power would be more in keeping with what the other items shown, especially the "Charge-air Press." is telling us about power availability (I guess. I haven't seen the Charge-Air Press move above zero - I think because I haven't had opportunity to press the accelerator hard.).
Curious whether anyone else sees this the way I do.

I had a defective battery and got a lot of “critical starter battery” notices making me think that the 48 volt was the problem. Dealer replaced the 12 volt and said that it was the q2 volt battery-just incorrect terminology for my 450.
Interesting problem that you had (hope it is totally resolved). I thought the 48v motor was the starter, but that seems incorrect or, at least, incomplete info.
I wish they told us more about how it all works.
