Brake calipers
Although the GLE's brakes work well, at least from my test drives, why do the calipers look skimpy and squarish? The calipers on my GLC look better in my opinion and are what I believe a caliper should look like. What are your thoughts?

Old post but still somewhat relevant (though AMG Line front rotors are no longer perforated, I believe): https://mbworld.org/forums/gle-class...ml#post7656624. The base models use floating calipers because they are the least expensive (and also light). The top AMG option is with fixed calipers which are more rigid and offer potentially better performance.

I should have clarified to say the AMG line exterior package for the non-AMG models. My '21 450 build isn't getting perforated rotors let alone the lettered calipers.

The 'NEW' management team has tightened things up across all models and makes.
They can save$5-$10 by using non perforated (non AMG) rotors. That is a lot of money over several thousand cars. I would expect many other 'cost savings' features are included. Mercedes engineers are world famous for specifying more than adequate parts for many functions. They used to 1)Build the car and 2) Figure out what to price it at. Now they work to a cost target. And they are working toward parts commonality across lines and vehicles.
