Mark up charge to place an order?

I had the option to order but the lead-time is currently 7 months with many options being dropped for the sake of not delaying deliveries even more. Decided against the order. I was not informed that there would be a mark up on a build during the process.
Try doing a build online and send it to a different dealership for them to quote you.

One can just simply ignore the mark up and make an offer. That is your opinion.
One helps his position by making it clear he is going to buy (order) a car today, provided a suitable deal can be done. If not the car/vehicle he wants at this dealer than at another dealer. And have a list of various vehicles and dealers. Ideally the most expensive vehicle on the list and the #1 on the list should be the M-B you are seeking to order. The list does not have to be all M-B vehicles. And not to put too fine a point on it not all vehicles on the list need be ones you would seriously consider buying. They should be comparable to what M-B you are looking at but they don't have to be real alternatives.
The dealer must believe if he lets you walk out the door with no deal made he's lost you to another dealer.
I did not negotiate because the purpose of my visit was just to take a look at the GLE450 to see how I like the AMG exterior and check out the various options. I am not in a hurry and want to take my time to decide on the options. There are a few more dealerships in town that I will be reaching out to.

This lines up with what I've experienced with the dealerships in Texas. Good and accurate info!

I hope you asked what type of sex work you receive for that five grand. Thank god for a global marketplace. Report this to mbusa and your local news. immediately. Take that dealer and put them out of business.

However, I did have some satisfaction later on showing up at that local dealer with my new car to buy floor mats. My sales advisor saw me and he was contrite enough and congratulated me on my car. I will browse their website and the car I originally wanted is still there unsold lol. Not sure if they were that greedy or that dumb or both.

This is my dealer BTW. Small family owned business with great service. Maintenance is also very reasonable. Just paid $300 for an “A” service yesterday on my GLE53 Coupe.
Cheers,
