2020 GLE 580 | 2020 Ram 1500 Limited
still no mention of the 580 in the 4/27 DOG. I wonder if we have seen the end of the non AMG V8. We could also be seeing the slow death of the V8 altogether. The new 2024 E class redesign 63 will be an inline 6 and not the traditional V8. I remember vaguely in 2020 that it was only supposed to be a temporary offering because there was no AMG for the introductory model year. I know it's mentioned in the off road press release but thats the only place. it's not included in the latest DOG revision. People high up in management at some high volume dealerships are also saying MBUSA is not going to be offering it anymore. Care to wager on the over under guys ? lol Hopefully this means those of us with 580s will have a greater value vehicle when its time to part ways and move on to the next one

I was told by multiple dealers no more GLE 580 or GLS 580 either. Damn that sucks cause I wanted one.

If they had designed the GLE450e with the straight 6, you could have had a GLE 580e with the performance of the V8.

Looks like the new GLE already got released! A dealer in NY got one and a salesman posted it, I saw it on tik tok. For those interested:

https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRwPqcNU/

Base headlights actually don’t look bad at all in my opinion, the DRL looks good and the reflector style lights blend in. It’s less visible then the order guide makes it look.

Im surprised they got released so quick. I guess MB is feeling the pressure from BMW.

The time from reveal to MSRP release to this potential early release is definitely faster than usual.
I guess they have learned from the 2019 launch which was a complete disaster and had cars stuck at the factory for months. There was a long thread in this forum somewhere about it.

Interesting so the base headlights on the V167 GLE facelift is the same as the new X254 GLC?

I wonder if it was because it is not an all new model and "just" a facelift?

Why do some 2024 GLE have 2 dots while some have 4 dots DRL?

Yep, it appears so... It would make sense for the GLE to have the 2 LEDs to differentiate from the GLC and GLS, however, there are up to 5 if you count the top LED on the headlight. Not sure where Mercedes is going with this or if they want to do away with model specific defining features.

Seems to me the only model continuing the trend is the GLS as seen on the facelift model:

Very similar to the new GLC and EQE SUV. I believe also the A/CLA/GLA/GLB facelift, also the EQE Sedan, and also the base headlights on EQS/EQS SUV in markets where it's offered. .

4 dots are the upgraded digital lights.

Exactly, yes they're not digital. My mistake. But they're the ILS lights.

Yup precisely, I don't understand why they are doing that but they are. Agree with the GLS, at least they left the GLS headlights alone.

They've made it to dealers at this point. We've received 10 or so over the last week.

Are they showing up as ordered? Or are some missing options like last year?

I see, I think I saw a post on that one, it had the base lights too, with only two dots like the GLC.

Only one of them has been an ordered example, the others were spec'd by Mercedes, as far as I'm aware.
They are pretty aware of at this point what is and isn't available. There are certainly still constrained options but not how it was the past two years where it was a toss up what was going to arrive.
