Sticker Shock on 2024 GLE 53
So cruised down to my MB dealership today to see where the order for my 2024 GLE 53 was. I knew they were starting the builds
around Jun 30. And hold on, the base price MSRP increased from $76,950 to $86,750. Geez!!! I was hoping/thinking about 6%
tops. Yeah I know they made some options standard but not $9800 dollars worth. Well I ordered the car anyways currently the factory
is out of 21 inch wheels. We'll see.

Out of curiosity, I went to the configurator to see what my 21 AMG 53 would cost with similar options today.
My 21 was pretty highly optioned with ARC, fancy glass and premium Napa leather, with a sticker about $97,100.
The options packaging is different, but I came up with about $101,200, difference of about $4100.
Subtract the premium leather because it's not available anymore, about $2,400 premium.
Add back $1,200 for the pano roof which comes with the Prestige Package but I didn't want on mine, and the difference for three model years is about $2900.
About 3%.
So I guess if you want a pretty highly optioned car, it's not a bad deal.
Edit- damn, I wish I had bought that 3D Burmester. Had one in the previous 450. I had this mental block against a 100K car. Silly me.

Yeah the 2024 included a couple of options I probably wouldn't have added like sport exhaust and panoramic roof. Nice options
just not for me. Also the price of leather dropped from the 2023 to the 2024. I was thinking that MB wouldn't have added so many
options to the base vehicle and left them as options.

AMG has really become denatured over the last decade, especially with Mercedes and bmw offering so many amg/m ‘packages’.

In Canada acoustic package and sport exhaust are standard on the 53. This is counterproductive. If you like loud exhaust, why have accounting package.

The GLE is a luxury SUV that can also go pretty fast and have a rather nice exhausting note, during those occasions of that you just want to cruise, you turn off the exhaust and want to be in a GLE 450. Therefore you can say GLE 53 is dual personality if you will. Obviously the suspension might not be as comfortable as an GLE 450 but if you have the air suspension I heard it comes pretty close.

Found a quick comparison of 2023 and 2024 model, not 53 though.:
