When looking for a new SUV for the wife, The GLE was top of her list EXCEPT, she was not a fan of the color options.... We have had Black, white, silver and gray before, she wanted something different.
Since we always get PPF on our new vehicles anyway, she decided to take the opportunity to go a new direction....

I know it wont be for everyone, but we love it and wanted to share. Stek Dynoprism PPF over Obsidian Black.

Wondering the same. Does PPF block UV, and solar heat too? Just wondering if it might make the interior of the car a little cooler. Also what state or city?

I think it looks great! I've been toying with the idea to do something to mine and maybe this is it, different color of course!

I am in North Alabama, and that does play into the cost. Really, a lot of variables depending on the local market, the quality of work, the warranty they provide and which film you go with. Also varies on how much you are wrapping, like, do you want the non color change areas or things like headlights or the front radar wrapped for protection? You can also change the color by using vinyl instead of PPF, that lowers both material costs AND labor costs as its easier to install but it does not provide as much protection and lasts 4-5 years vs PPF 6-10...

But full car coverage will typically run between $5K - $8K.

On ours, this is full Paint Protection Film with a 10 year warranty to not discolor, scratch or chip. And I had EVERYTHING wrapped, anything that's not in the color change version is wrapped with standard gloss clear (+ tails in slightly tinted clear). And finally, the installation company I used has been in business for 8 years so they are high quality and I feel confident they will still be around if I do need warranty work done to it. For those reasons, they were closer to the higher side of that range.

Yes, most top brand PPF companies do include UV protection in their film as well, though not sure it'll translate into interior of the vehicle being any cooler, the tint they did for me will help a lot more there. But the UV protection in the PPF does keep the film itself from yellowing AND it helps protect the paint underneath so that when you do decide to remove the film, your factory paint looks brand new underneath.

I like it. It looks different certainly and goes well with the black wheels. You can put ceramic coating on top of the PPF.
My wife doesn't like the color choices on the 2024 GLE 53 but I don't think a wrap is in my future. Congrats,
