Safety first! GLE's brake upgrade, the formidable AMG kit
V167 is one of the rare luxury seven-seaters to be found on the market, from Mercedes, and the cabin space can definitely match the esteemed S Class but this also means a weight increase, namely 2.25 tons.
Of course, if you get your hands on one of these, you’d want to make sure that it’s equipped with the best safety features. One of such features is the 6 POT with 1 POT AMG brake kit which also includes larger semi-floating discs (400mm and 370mm respectively), and just like that, more power to you. Keep in mind that installation takes about a day, so get ready to leave your car for a few hours: https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...ab05966a62.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...a7bd92b938.jpg Behold, the complete set! I like to lay it all nice and neat before we begin. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...033a5b8cdb.jpg Close-up of the 6 POT caliper with the 400mm disc. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...35f157310b.jpg My guys and I go to the gym regularly, to be able to hold these babies up for photos. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...d73dc38e57.jpg Front disc comparison https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...5189452feb.jpg Rear caliper comparison https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...05f8505d4b.jpg Rear disc comparison https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...09c451e5ef.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...5102d00510.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...f52d3fac80.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...78149d0e03.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...ede75e6753.jpg |
Are those factory discs? The ventilation holes on the factory set are cast in, where most aftermarket sets are cross drilled.
Drilling introduces stress points, which is less than ideal for a brake disc. |
Does this include stainless steel brake lines?

Cost will be exorbitant but need the part numbers more importantly.

that is really tight it’s almost hitting the rim , might need a spacer?
It's really hard to clean the calipers - even q-tips are too big. |

Can the caliper upgrade clear a 20 inch wheel? I know the MB upgrade from the factory will not.

I also notice that they are using the wrong bolts for the wheel - the Flower headed ones instead of the normal hex bolts, and with that wheel they should be black as well. |
Yeah I do have the factory 20 inch wheels. BTW my 2024 GLE 53 does have the flowered lugs nuts. Are the 21 inch wheels
and up have black regular lugs nuts? That car in the picture does not have the night package. Also this https://icarmix.com/product/genuine-...lass-x167-suv/ website quotes a price of $48000 HK dollars so about $6130 USD. |

If it doesn't, then the bolts are correct. Worth asking about if ordering, IMO. |
