2021 GLE450
It's okay, but I'd be lying if I said I loved it. That said, similar grays from other brands - most a little darker - have been very trendy for the last couple years, so I expect it to be popular.

I almost ordered that color but I read in one of the forums someone said it looks like they primed the car then forgot to paint it. I haven't been able to get past that so I ended up with Obsidian Black again. Can't go wrong there ...

It’s been the hot color so a lot of people are buying it. Fad or will it stick? I’m not a fan but Mercedes like most others keeps the same colors year after year with an occasional change of a shade of blue or gray. The GLE is a big seller yet has few color options. The S Class has a lot of colors…too many that are similar.

I like it but I feel this color has become an overpopulated new trend. You are seeing it on many non-luxury vehicles as well. My main gripe with Alpine Grey is that it being a MANUFAKTUR paint costing $1,750, it's a flat paint not a metallic one.
**Side note: I wished Mercedes offered an AMG Night Package II with the dark rear & side badges for the GLE. This would be sick on Alpine Grey!

2024 GLE 53 AMG Coupe
The color gives me paint primer and Kia vibes.
I believe Kia was one of the first automakers to introduce this color after Porsche. But Kia is more common so I see this color mostly on them and it makes me think of a cheap car.
However, I’ve seen some GLE Coupes in alpine gray and it looks great in photos.

We were considering this color for our order. It's actually pretty "complex", which what makes it attractive.
Check the pictures attached, same car from different angles and shooting positions. You can see how this color changes depending on lighting.

Looks good in these pictures . I wonder if it’s a hard color to match like silver is. Since it’s not metallic it may not be.

I bought a 2024 GLE 350 in Alpine Grey. Actually, I let my wife purchase it because the day we were at the dealership in Portland my back was acting out and I didn’t get a chance to drive the 350. Initially, I didn’t have a problem with it, but when I got it home, it seemed every time I pulled up to an intersection there was another Subaru, Honda, or Toyota in the same color. I got tired of the color quickly. Even more problematic to me was the fact that the 350 just wasn’t enough engine for the GLE and I knew I would take a huge hit and trading it in and I did. I was looking for a 450 with a night package, but couldn’t find one . My local dealer had a 450 arrive on the truck the day I went down to drive one. Unfortunately It didn’t have the night package but it was equipped similarly to the Alpine gray 350 that my wife had purchased. Plus he was able to give me additional $3000 trade-in, over what a Seattle dealer would give me so I made the deal immediately. I took the car to a local auto tinting business and had front, the window trim, roof rails, mirrors and rear wrapped in gloss black to duplicate the night package look.Additionally, I had the chrome piece between the two tail lights and the trunk sill protector for the rear tailgate wrapped to complete the look. It looks as it were done at the factory and cost only $500.00. Now, I have a Cirrus Silver Metallic with a Night Package that’s actually fun to drive. As an added bonus it came with a roof spoiler that I’ve come to like.
The dealer had my trade sold before I could have the the new vehicle prepped for delivery the next day which I believe contributed to the trade in difference. The 450 was the first new vehicle I’ve purchased locally in over 30 years. So far the 450 has performed flawlessly.

I’ve been looking to purchase a new loaded GLE450 for a couple of months now and it seems that the only color that you can purchase loaded is Alpine Grey. I don’t know if it’s that popular or if Mercedes is pushing it now.
I tried to order a white one but the Pinnacle pkg & AMG 21” wheels are not currently available.

Yes, I had a 12/11 build date but it kicked it out because of the pinnacle pkg. He tried several dates in January but same result. The AMG 21” wheels show no availability until February.
