Does having to order the GLE 450W4 impact how the dealer will see the sale? <more…>
I am ready to purchase a GLE 450W4 but I cannot find the version with the options/packages that I want out on the inventory page. So that means I will have to order one as I want what I want and am not going to be swayed by a deal to take one on the lot.
I want the metallic grey color; Catalina beige leather interior, the Pinnacle package, the driver assist package; heated back seats, 4 way climate control; dash cam, trailer hitch, wheel lock bolts, running boards AND (IMPT!) the Acoustic Comfort package. I DO NOT want the air suspension package - I just want the standard suspension package. All of these things are things you click the boxes for on the build page. But the cars I am seeing in inventory are either not my color (I only saw a couple) or have the air suspension (lots!) or do not have the acoustic comfort package.
Will ordering one impact the deal OTD price that the dealer is willing to negotiate in any way?
Does money down on an order qualify as a sale for this year to the dealer ( so maybe some end of month, end of qtr, end of year discounts could be applied?) or is it a 2026 sale as that s when the car would be available and I get to pay for it?
How do I handle this if it is an issue to my getting a good deal?
Thx!

The most powerful (and stressful) version of this is retroactive. If a dealer sells their 100th car to hit Tier 3, they don't just get $1,500 for that one car—they get an extra $1,000 for every car sold that month (the $500 they already got plus the $1,000 difference).
So end of month and end of year is a time of leverage for the buyer.
